This afternoon's entry

Today’s entry is “Good King George” and it is not at all political (my sincere apologies to my republican friends):

Good King George - Click Here!

And none of it was done in some software that starts with R.

Apology accepted........

Catchy tune! it’s on repeat until the neighbors come banging.
The drums sound really compressed.
Are they?
Nice crisp, clean acoustic guitar sound.

Whew!
For a minute there, I thought “Good King George” was political, but then I remembered:

Good to have that cleared up.
Otherwise, some might be offeneded (how many musicians would be offended, anyway?
not I!)
Besides, being offended is for ex-wives.
Did I say that out loud?

Nice work.
Still listening!

Did you get a chance to listen to the offensive song I took down after just a few days, “What’s the Question?”
You’d be surprised how many people get offended, and how easily.
Not here, of course.
But in my adoring public.
:D

Yes, the drums have the snot compressed out of them.
I thought it might be cool.
Or is it just stupid?
The drums are mostly one mic (audix 0m5) through a very nice tube preamp and opto-compressor. Smae chain for the acoustic, actually, which, you will be happy to know, is a $100 special.

I did get to hear it. I looked for it, then I saw that you said that you took it down. People getting offended does not actually surprise me much at all (I’ve seen it so much), but it does still perplex me.
To me the guitar doesn’t sound that compressed at all. Did you eq the brightness back in?
Compression on the drums is a cool effect, methinks. Not at all estupido.
