Thx for the cross hair drag option Flavio! That is a sweet little tool that has definitely been missed, much appreciated! Also appreciate undue for envelope fade for effects and volume too? I'll have to check that but most of all the cross hair drag tool is nice!
I was pretty impressed with this version. I put one midi clip in it and moved it around at will. Haven’t tried to load one other than right clicking, but I could drag it anywhere at ease. Have upgraded to 2498
here some possible bugs.
so far I’ve been getting a lot of seemingly random crashes and dmp files being sent.
automation and plugins seem to cause most of the crashes. However I can’t replicate any of them.
SFZ doesn’t seem to be working anymore.
Once the cross hairs button is enabled can’t turn it off unless I switch to volume envelopes and then can’t switch it off unless I hit the crosshairs. After n is shutdown and restarted it returns back to normal mode Can anyone verify this?
I do like the return of the horizontal lock when moving wave files vertically to other tracks.
the undo fades work fine.
other features not listed.
“effects tail length” option now also in options menu (for the purpose of sample accurate mixdowns and freezes) thanks Flavio! (that was a personal request)
and another is a check box for “Shift mixdown file according to plugin latency”
so far that all the new features I’ve found.
I’m seeing 2498 as slightly more sensitive also with a couple crashes and attempts to send error reports but that stopped for me.
Not really sure what was causing that.
To get out of the drag mode you click on the arrow icon to negate the cross’hair tool.
I also had to customize my tool bar to see the tools I like. First time for that since v3.3…that’s no prob.
It seems like a good build.
I did find it easy loading midi clips and dragging them around with ease, as well as wav files.
So far so good!

I had to add the arrow to my customized toolbar. didn't noticed it when I added the crosshair icon. it would be nice if I could just click on the cross hair or volume envelope and it would reset to select mode.
Well I think you where right, after working with 2498 some tonight I can say with out a doubt this build crashes with out warning and crashes often. I can’t pinpoint what is making it crashed because it seemed to crash during different chores. For instance; hit play and click to view the mixer = freeze/crash.
Next time; hit play and view the mixer and no problem. etc etc.
Is it sending dump files?
No, that computer doesn’t go on the internet.
Besides, it wouldn’t be crashin for only me.
Maybe it’s sending dump files for someone who uses it while online.

Well I've also got internal hordeolum. You don't suppose that has anything to do with the title of my last song do ya peeps? 
2499 addresses vst imposed crashes, this was probably causing my problems.
Maybe you got a cross hair in your eye… 
Boy I’ll say. I had three issues and it was a bumma!!! I finally got relief this afternoon! Cold compress’s, yeah!
Ok man, 2499 is a winner so far! I tried to crash it doing basic things and couldn’t. Opens midi, vst, working in the song; normalize, cutting, moving parts, starting stopping looping, basic stuff but it’s as steady as a rock! Flavio if your reading this, I like the way you have it set up, using the arrow icon to switch between tools. It seems more steady that way. Lovein the cross hairs Phoo!
so I tried installing 2499 on my main machine thinking it was stable enough.
My midi and audio playback were way out of sync. this was with Independence Free VSTi. Then sfz still doesn’t work, plays like the first 3 notes then hangs. All these things work fine in 2496, so I reinstalled it and all the problems were gone.
I suspect it has something to do with the VST3 support and the plugins I use.
anyone else getting audio and midi sync issues with 2499?
Every time I go to beta test there’s a new version. That’s good I guess. I hardly ever use the crosshairs though - I’m an old key-banger so I automatically do ctrl+drag.

Pop’s, have you tried loading any midi clips yet? I thought that was a big improvement. No puppet on a string type feel. Sleek quick and direct for me.
Unlike past versions this one requires tool bar customization, to most of us that won’t be a problem. But if the arrow icon isn’t visible as a default and the envelope icon is engaged, it won’t un’engage until you hit the arrow icon. That could cause some temp’frustration.
