Track to Track

I use version 3.3
I would like to be able to take one song in it’s entirety and make it so I can play it in two tracks on a CD.
I don’t want there to be any lag between track 1 and track 2.
I still want the song to flow seamlessly. But I want it where one song runs on two tracks.
Can anyone help me?

Thank you

Do you mean Stereo?
You can take as many tracks as you want, move them how you want them placed and then do a File>Mixdown to produce a stereo file.

I use Nero to do this. With Nero you can set the track markers and adjust the gap between tracks. I don’t know if this is something n-Tracks CD burning facility can do?

PS I think Adobe Audition will do this as well… can’t remember at the moment.

You lost me at 3.3 everything after that is a blur.

Will version 6 do what I seek?
No…I don’t mean stereo tracks.If that’s what I wanted I would have said that…
I mean…Track one plays the first 19 seconds of the song and track two plays the rest.
Picture this…
You have a song where the first part is a soft instrumental that jumps into the main song abruptly at 19 seconds.
But what if you don’t want to listen to that 19 second intro each time you play it off of a CD?
Track one plays the intro and track two plays the rest of the song.
If this one song were on a CD it would read as "Track 1 and Track 2"
Make sense?

Nero - I think if you search the forum there’s a write-up on this.
I think you would have to render the first 19sec’s as a seperate
track. And everything after that as another track. Then using
Nero you can write those two tracks to a CD (with no gap)
(There are how-to’s on the net about this) Then you can play
the first 19sec track 1 in a repeat mode or whatever. Or play
the two tracks seemlessly as ‘one’ song.

I don’t use ver 6 for burning CD’s but running a simple test I see it has options for silence between tracks.
I’ll post a pic so hopefully you won’t have to be a turd to me.

Mix each file accordingly.

Your results may vary - offer not valid in Zimbabwe - user is responsible for all state and local taxes - sorry Tennessee.

I think the problem with that method Poppa is ALL tracks will have 0 ms silence between them? That may be okay or not? I dunno. With Nero, you can set the gap between each track independently.

He asked if it could be done with TWO TRACKS. Yes it can.

Yes I heard you call me a worthless old fart - don’t try’n deny it. I have ESPN you know.

I could tell you how to do it, but it might not be clear . . .

Thank you all for the information…

I will do a bit more research and post my results…

Also, the CD burner may need to support “burn at once”. I remember that was an issue for me in the past. I think most burners support that these days anyway. (don’t know the specifics of why it was needed – might have something to do with being able to continue burning the next track without gaps, unrelated to the markers)

Just a note here for all the CD burner questioneers. Get NERO free with some label maker programs - I don’t recall which but there are free versions out there cheap, packaged here and there. It’s a great CD burning tool you might want to take some time to find an installation CD of. 10 dollars for some printable CD labels with NERO ‘light’ is better than the 79.99 Nero costs.

Here are some CD burner alternatives.

Personal disclaimer: I have not used any of the above.

I use the first one on that list all the time at work. “CDBurnerXP” Thus far it has been a great program doing pretty much everything Nero can. The cheap toids at work won’t buy Nero… Anyway CDBurnerXP is definitely worth a download IMO.

PS I use and like it at work for the ISO Image support and price… FREE!

Most any version of Nero:

Open Nero choose "audio cd"

Drag Wav/mp3 in the window (In your case the whole rendered audio file)

Right-click on .wav/mp3 file & choose "Properties"

In first tab that appears put “Pause” to 0

Then click on “Indexes,Limits,Split” tab

Use zoom tool so you can get close to the split point you want.

Now left click on the ‘green’ waveform - a line appears. Now right click
and select split.
You will see a yellow bar.

Now you can grab the bottom of the split bar
and move it to where ever you want (i.e 19secs into song)
Then select the apply box and answer yes to the confirmation.

Then click OK

Then you shoould be ready to burn.
