Track volume after effects ?

There are many things I can’t find in the nTrack-Help.

When I insert an effect on a track then is the track-volume
applied before or after the effect. (I have not tested) ???

I think (I have tested) that the track-pan
is applied after the effect. :)

And in what order are the effects applied.
(when “default-EQ” and “default-compressor” is present). :(

Hi !

Don’t know if this will help.

Learjeff was one of the guys that set this up (it was for v3.3 but I’m sure not much of the routing has changed).

This is a question that I’m sure he’ll be able to answer should this not have the right info.

Learjeff’s signal path diagram

OK ! I’m looking at "Mixer - Track Controls"
What is fader ? Is that Track-volume ?

Yip !

So then the effects … are applied in this order:

1.) "default-EQ"
2.) "default-compressor"
3.) inserted effects (in order)
4.) track-volume
5.) pan

OK ?

Looks like it, but I’ll just wait for Jeff to come and ‘audit’ our findings…

I don’t know as much about N-Tracks’ routing as he does

Eyup!

You can re-arrange the order of effects by right-clicking in the track effects window.
Also, if using an AUX, the effects can be applied pre or post fader and inserts.

Is it possible to have the

“the default-EQ” and "the default-compressor"
after
an inserted effect ???

When I record in M-S and use a M-S-marix-plug
and want EQ and compression after. :)

Hi Göran! Just an idea: leave the eq and comp be out of the track you're gonna place you M"S matrix plugin. Then make the track go into group (one for example).

The you may use the eq and comp in the group channel in which they are indeed located after matrix plugin.

Like this:
track 1 fader > inserted plugin > send to group 1 > group 1 fader> group 1 eq and comp > group 1 inserted plugings etc.

Thank You,
but I have already done that. :;):

Another way is to insert the “default-compression” as a plug.
But the “default-EQ” can’t be added as a plug ???
