One of my grand daughters is into horses - for her 10th birthday last year my son buys one for her. So what do I do? - went on line and gathered horse meat information and bound it in a hand decorated little book.
What are grandpa’s for?
My father in-law brought a calf home when my wife and her brother were little. Kept it in a backyard fence and fed it corn and grain for obvious reasons which were lost on the little ones of course. To them it was just a big pet that they enjoyed the heck outta playing with. One day they come home from school and Freddie was gone. That night maw in-law served up steak for supper. Paw in-law came in to eat.
“Dad? Where is Freddie?” He just pointed at their upraised forks.
My wife said it took her a lonnngggg time to get over that and eat beef again!
