Tweaking Windows XP

I’ve searched high and low for this topic. I knew someone posted it a few months back.

I set up my own user account in windows xp and ran msconfig disabled a whack of stuf I didn’t even know that existed. I have my DAW working really really well. Fantastic latency no pops clicks or anything with buffers set as low as they can go. Something I wasn’t able to get away with before doing this. Also changed some of the default view options in nTrack. Got rid of all the fancy smanchie 3d wave viewforms etc…

Just want to top things off be reviewing that post that I can’t find.

Was it MusicXP’s tips and XP tweaks?

Good stuff there…

That is IT!!! Owe you bigtime.

Hi StuH:
I config’d this P-111 1.2mhz ASUS Intel I use as my Editing Machine… IT appears that after I got used to how it behaved that IT works just perfectlly…

By all accounts … the Desk looks and behaves like a '98SE Desk… at least for the setup I have here… Well… something like IT… I started to config. the P-4 XP desk… That’s when the Mainboard went down… I didn’t have the config. completed… That’s what I wanted to complete, the day IT went down…
