XP Drivers for STA 2000 Hardware
I’m looking for a download site for XP Drivers for the Hoontech STA 2000 Audio Hardware I have.
The drivers that came with this stuff only has '95/'98SE/Windows 2K Drivers…
I was sure I had a set of drivers for this hardware …
however, I am unable to find them on any of the drives I have…
My search came up EmPtY
so far…
I had this hardware loaded on the P-4 Dual boot Studio machine… way-back-when
It worked fine with the '98SE Operating System…
I was sure I had it loaded on the P-111 800 XP Machine…
I think I’m gonna install the Hardware and then go on-line and do an install search to see if that will find a driver set…
We’ll see…
Is that a good plan. ?
Bill…
Did you try the Win 2K drivers?
A lot of times they work with XP.
It may say ‘not certified’ or what ever but give them a try.
Any help?

Should be on this page Bill…

Thank You Gentlemen:
That first page is great…
I’ll open the second page and compare…
You see Browsing with a modem-and-dial up is not the same as browsing with a Hi-speed connection…
It’s slow to download the images…
and all…
I didn’t see anything like the link you posted Mark A…
I’ll check the other link as well, Dubious…
In fact, I’ll open it now…
They both look pretty close…
There appears be be lots of drivers to choose from…
Along with the manuals…
and…
Version Dates and all…
I need to get busy with the read me notes and manuals
before I go too far with all this…
That STA 2000 hardware is great for ripping the Teac 38 1/2" tape machine…
I have a stack of tape’d projects that we did with that machine back in the early '90’s…
I’ll be nice to load them on a Hard Drive and do some experimenting…
It would be so nice if I could get some power out there in the studio to wire up some repro equipment…
and do a spectrum of the room…
and get busy…
Paavo has done up a report on using the Har-Bal Analyzer Application for measuring Room Acoustics and Standing Waves-and-all…
I hope I can put all this into perspective…
He has written quite a detailed report on measuring and EQ’ing a
room…
It’s available to anyone interested in this stuff on the Har-Bal Forum…
Bill…
Hi sevenOfeleven and Mark A:
There’s a lot of driver information and “EXE’s” to mull over…
I’ve downloaded much of the information that is available on those pages…
I’m looking for some advice here…
What say…
I install the Hardware and then connect to the Internet and let the operating system and all choose the drivers by connecting to the Internet…
?
OR…
Should I choose which drivers to install by directing the install to go to the folder-and-file that I choose??
AND… then Choose the Driver Update feature to decide the latest drivers and permit to operating system to make the choice/decision…
Can I run into any headaches by making the incorrect choice at driver install time…
?
If I do…
can I make it difficult to un-install the drivers and corrupt the registry??
I’m looking for the right approach to installing the correct drivers…
with the least amount of heartaches…
Bill…
Grab the README files and follow the instructions. Windows will not “locate” and install these for you. Some hardware, you install the driver THEN the card… others, the card THEN the driver and others don’t care which. Most times it’s drivers then hardware but that’s what README files are for!

I was wondering what those were for - the file name is so - well …
Yeah… for years I thought that was Arabic or something; “Abdul Re-ad-me Fasjani” or summat…
D
I Hear you way over here…
Hoontech is essentially gone…
There appears to be a big legal battle over what’s left of them…
What drivers that are working are protected by some kind of intellectual property, or something…
I got a set of drivers to natively install, in XP… They aren’t the latest drivers that have been written…
I got some kind of audio to appear at the desktop speakers…
Sounds like it’s in Korean…
or something…
I like rice…
BUT
not in the audio I hear…
Hey…
I’m having a good day…
so far…
I don’t have the breakout box connected yet…
Maybe, it’ll take off when I get it hooked up…
EH…
?
Bill…
.p.s.
Yeah… for years I thought that was Arabic or something; “Abdul Re-ad-me Fasjani” or summat…
