Volume Evolution Muted When Using Punch Feature

This was a problem with version 3.x and continues with 4.x - when using punch-in recording, ocasionally after a selection is punched in and recorded, on playback the selection is muted. When I look at the volume evolution, the punched selection goes from 0 to minimum volume for the selected area that was punched, then back to 0 after the punch. I think the evolution is set that way so that you don’t hear the original track during the punch, but the evolution is supposed to go back to normal for playback. Again, this happens intermittently - not a huge deal as I can just use “flatten envelope” to hear the track, but it’s annoying… ???
