Volumn Evolutions

Not working correctly…

Hi n-Track Users:

I’m working on a Bass track, at Long-Last…
I have the track just about complete…

I’m in the Editing Mode
and using the latest builds as Flavio posts them…
I’ve run into an issue while using the Vol. Evolution Function…

I’m gonna post a print-screen…
then describe the issue, as best I can…

I want to edit/reduce the Volume of the bass notes to infinity for those three notes…
That’s easy…
And the three notes are now at infinity for just one pass of the Loop that I’ve created…
You can see the Hi-lilted section I have on the upper track, that I’m using to create the loop…

However, after the first pass of the loop the volume of the three notes that I want to edit on the bass track …
returns to normal volume levels on each pass of the loop…
after the first pass…

Could there be something incorrectly written in the “Code” for the “Loop Editor”…
????..

Would it be wise to send Flavio some Mail Regarding this issue??
I see him up here from time-to-time…
Maybe, he’ll see this thread…

Bill…

Hi All:

I’ve done more investigations on this issue…

If I remove the “Loop Set-up” and scan the timeline from a previous point to play the section of the bass notes that I reduced to infinity, the notes are at infinity…
even during repeated passes…
The issue only happens if the section of the timeline is Highlighted for looping…

Weird…
to say the least…
????

I’m still working on editing the Bass Line…

I’m gonna post the finished product…
I’m afraid my bass playing ain’t up to scratch for this flavor of instrumental music…
My Chops need a lot of Chopping…

Bill…

I’ve found a problem that I think is the cause of what you described. When looping (i.e. the “Transport/Loop Selection” menu command) is active the program fails to ‘rewind’ the volume envelopes position to the start of the loop region, so the envelope continues as if the loop didn’t occur. The problem will be fixed in the next build.

Thanks for the feedback,

Flavio.

Hi Flavio…
and All:

Thank you for looking at this issue and considering a FIX for it…
I used the latest build and finished the bass track edits, this afternoon, on this project I’ve been working on…

It’s not the kind-or-flavor of music that grabs my attention…
but…
for some reason I’ve been captivated by this melody…
What a great rendition of this song…
it is…
Russell, the guitar player, has two guitar tracks that he did…
and I managed a bass line for it…
In my opinion, it really doesn’t need any other tracks to support it…
However, with a bass line with it…
It should have a set of Tasty Drum Tracks around it…
now…

Hey phoo.
I can hear your drum kit on it… from way over here…
:p

Does anyone remember the song…
All In The Game.
????
Well, these guitar tracks
are magic…

I compressed the mix into a Varible rate mp3 file…
It’s just over 6.5 meg. in size…
I need to find a place to post it to tie a link to it…

There ain’t many songs that grabs my attention, these days…
But…
this one does…
It must be my age…

I’m getting prepared to return to work…
so…
I’m glad that I found the time to complete this little project…

I’m somewhat concerned that a “Sync” issue has setteled into my P-111 setup…
I’ve not known this to be an issue before v6.0… Over the length of this song the drift of the sync is as much as .5 - .7 of a second…
It could be the “Seek Time” of the Hard drive I started the project and stored the files on…
I’m not sure…
However, it’s there…

It took me a long time to slip-and-slide all the bass notes on the track…
However, it’s all done now…
