18" of Snow Stuck @ Home

Emergency!!

SEND HELP!!! Need provisions…Brandy all gone…Single malt scotch all gone…down to 1/2 bottle 3 Olives vodka and 1 bottle Wild Turkey.

Driveway cleared but streets not plowed. Unable to get to town. Snow bound in house with wife and kids…Not sure how long I can hold out…

Oh and if you would pick up a pizza after you stop at the liquor store that would be grand!!!

I’m trying to work out which is the worst part of your situation :p All sounds bad…specially if you get down to the Wild Turkey

Don’t eat the worm…
:)
:p
 AND save that last jigger of salt…
hehe…

Bill…

We got 12" of light powder last night…
I was up early and got it all cleaned up…
The snow blower worked like a charm…
(light powder)…
Anyway, it’s 2:45pm here now…
It’s snowing like a Bastard…
Second installment…
The forecast says another 12-15"
and then overnight there is another 12-15" for early to noon tomorrow…
Lets just say…
that’s 3ft. of snow…
We’ll have to wait-and-see…

No work today and tomorrow…
First day back to work sense the end of September and already two weather days…
HhhhhMmmmm…

Bill…

No work for us today, we’ll see about tomorrow, I think we will have had about 10 inches total. Not quite the 2 feet they were predicting, but still, the kids have 2 HUGE snow forts out front. :agree:

It’s gettin serious over here… The wind is up and the overcast is really heavy for this time of day… We’ll have to wait and see how long this is gonna last… It don’t look good…

Bill…

You guys keep all the crap up there. We southern girly menz ain’t equipped to deal with that much snow. BLECH!

UJ

He’s right about that ya know…

when I lived in Nashville back in 96 we got 6" and the whole Metro shut down…I think they got 2 plows for the whole county.

Need pics! :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree:

I’ve been at it sense 4am this morning…
It’s 2:30pm now…
The weather has blown over now…
The overcast has given way to mostly cloudy skies with bright sunshine…
It’s nice to see the sun again…
I think we got more snow than they forecast…
However, there wasn’t the winds that they predicted…
My snow blower worked flawlessly, till I blew the drive belt to the drive wheels…
The overnight snow that we got was a little wetter that the Tuesday/Wednesday morning snowfall…
SO, it was somewhat heavier…
The temperature is -3c in the sunshine…
In the shelter the sun makes enough heat to bring the temperature above freezing…
One thing, we had no power outages, at least in my neighbourhood… This was a huge storm… It covered most of North America…BUT…
Nothing like what they are getting on the North Eastern coast of Australia…
We are hearing, it pretty bad over there…
We got about 4 ft. of snow, in my area…
some got less, some got more…
However, it’s not any records…
Not significant enough to go out and take photos of what came down…

This storm was just another case where my snow blower broke down and left me doing the shoveling … yet again…
:)
My snow blower knows when to quit…
I had about 25% of the clearing done when it decided to break down…

Anyway, I got it fixed-and-ready for the next storm…
They are talking about another one over night Friday/Saturday morning…
We’ll see…

 Steve! Have you started to eat the kids yet, or are you already dead?
Our second helping of two feet of the stuff thawed a couple of weeks ago and now it's positively barmy.

I did try to deliver you a bottle but I only got half way down the lane and collapsed - "hick!!!"

2 hours to clear the drive, snowblower and shovel. I get done, walk into the house hoping someeone made some breakfast and there stands my wife and BOTH daugthers gym bags in hand.
Mind you the road to town, or the road to get to the road to get to town are not plowed yet.

"We want your Jeep.", says my wife.
"Yeah, we want to go to town and workout at the gym." adds both daugthers.

I can't believe what I'm hearing. I just spent 2 hours...and you want to go?...to... workout?

"Want to workout? How about you grab a shovel and go clear the sidewalks and the front porch?", I ask.
"Why do you have to be such a dick?". they reply.

There's not enough alcohol in the world!!!

Steve, doormat at the palace of estrogen, Duff.

Why shovel? Just drive and walk over it a bunch.

I like the colour of that snow on that beach..
:)

I wonder if I could stand that sun-and-heat for an hour..
????

It's back to work today..
sigh....

Bill..

I wonder if I can wait for another Big Blow ?.. hehe

I would love a little snow…but not the clearing up afterwards!

Hey…
don’t get me wrong…
I love a little snow…
:)
But it’s when it continues to snow a little…

That’s what I don’t like…
:)
Then…
after it snows, the wind comes around and it gets cold…
I don’t like that, either…

At the moment, I’m looking at an outside temperature of -9c…
No wind…
SO, As long as I keep heating fuel in the tank the inside temperature should be higher and it’s gonna be a not-so-bad day, so far…
We’ll see…
