As long as we're "borrowing"

It’s pretty obvious where this came from, if you own “Tommy.”

Above the Little Men - Cluck here! (cluck, cluck…)

Sleep deprivation (sp) is driving me nuts and making me incoherent at times but, I think I’ll critique this song.

First off, Tom Townsend, er, I mean Pete Spademan, no, WHOever. Had to inspect my cup o coffee to make sure the wife wasn’t slipping in a tab of Orange Barrel or something.(Is she the “Acid Queen”?)
I was tripping over the opening guitar sounds with rainbow colors galore, when the vocal thing came into play and totally sent me stratopheric (is that a word?). Whether a “rip off” or not, this is GOOD!
Mr. Spademan has “arrived” in his mixing skills for sure! I am truly impressed with the instrumentation and their placement in the stereo field. Eq was awsum, your best to date IMHO. Playing was excellant as usual, and the vocals were out front (where I like 'em).
Most Excellant Job Tom! This will be on my SC radio for sure!

Now I’m off to de-tox my coffee!

Yaz

Tom, can you hear me?

Thanks, Yaz. My mixes are improving. I have no idea how folks are able to be good recordists at age 19 or whatever. Its damn difficult. :)

Well… I’ve been missing the Spademan Hit Factory, so had to join Soundclick, as I haven’t been able to access it recently.

However, it was worth it for this one Tom. I know what you mean by borrowed, but quite original also. Beautifully clean mix and much more restrained on the cymbals than usual.
Definitely one of your best to date, and I’m a Spademan Hit Factory fan.

Good one Tom,
Cheers,
Ian

Eyup!

Um, Spademan Hit factory.
A rather unfortunate acronym, totally undeserved. :p

See Tom, get the snare right and the rest will follow.

Three cheers for DaDa Rock!

Steve

Yaz sez it’s “get the vox right and the rest will follow.”

I say it’s “get the subharmonics that only $1,200 speakers can reproduce properly, and the rest will follow.” ???

Anyway, I’m very pleased y’all took a few minutes to listen!

Cool… Tom IS the man. No wonder I can never find the muse. It’s always at Tom’s place! :)

D

The speakers do make a big + in my book. 2-way vrs 3-way speakers, hmm, I’ll take 3-ways!
Tom’s best mix to date I think!

Hey D, Tom is the muse! :agree:
