Audio goes away every 10 seconds or so

Greetings. I’ve been using n-track for years, always been happy with it. Now all of a sudden, the audio just goes away on playback every 10 seconds or so.
After a few seconds, it comes back, then goes away again 10 or 12 seconds later. Track vu meters show normal, but playback vu goes flat and takes all sound with it.
Also doing this on mix down!
Two days ago it was workingh fine. Im’ just mixing something I recorded weeks ago, and now this is happing. What’s up?

check to see if the pregram is still registered. Try to reenter the registration/serial number of Ntrack. What you discribe came ahppen if the progrma is running in unregistered “demo” mode.

Are you recording 24-bit? I think the 16-bit version 3 allowed you to record at 24-bit but would periodically whack your .wav files. Make sure your inputs are at 16-bit and all your .wav files are 16-bit.

bax3: looks like i’m no longer registered. At least the "registered to: " in the About page is blank. Why in the world would that happen?
Also, my para EQ add-in is showing ‘demo mode’ - I paid for and registered both of these - what’s going on?

kbub: Wave files look fine, and as I said, the channel vu meters show normal activity. It’s the playback vu’s that go flat every 10 secs or so. Happens on mixdown, too.

If you just re-enter your regestration codes everything should work again.
This used to happened if the program wa accedssed by a someone with a new sigh-in. a flag would come up asking if you wanted to use the “old config” file or the new one. the new config did not hold the serial/registration number. It didn’t happen to everyone and I have had no problems with it in later versions. anyhow, enter the code and it should all work.

I bought it back in '03 - I would not even know where to look for the old code.


I went ahead and bought ver 5.x upgrade last night. I have a show tonight, but hopefully I can download and install the new version Tuesday and get going again.

OK, I got version 5 up and running and every thing looks good.
Audio not going away any more.
But…

The FASoft compressor I bought in -03 is gone now.
how do I get it back, and will I have to pay for it again?

Never mind! I found the n-track compressor, which works fine for me. Also found and downloaded the mp3 lame stuff, so that’s working too.

Everthing looks cool, and so far, I really like version 5 !

I’ll post up one of my demo tracks later this week.
