Songs recorded with n-TracK
Come by my Myspace page and give a listen to two blues instrumentals recorded and mixed with n-Track. One won Best Song Blues in 2006 and the other was a finalist in the same category in 2007. It might have won, but I submitted the wrong version that had a guitar trip and was burned from an mp3. Anyway at least it made the finals even with all that considered! I’ll be entering more songs in this year’s awards also recorded with n-Track. Gonna be a bit more careful to send the right versions this time! Feel free to add request me if you’re on Myspace and if you have music there let me know. Thanks!

Great stuff.
Which were the winning songs? “Won’t ever be the same”?
great sounds, I want to play like that but I can’t seem to find my style.
What was wrong with using the mp3 file instead of what?
Thanks
Don

Hey Tom!
Thanks for the compliment! The song that won for Best Blues in 2006 was Won't Ever be The Same, and the song that made the finals last year was Guess I'll Always Have The Blues. Btw, sorry for the delay in answering, but I was having trouble logging in with my original ID and password so I had to create a new one.

Hey Don,
Thanks for checking out my tunes and for the compliment! I made the mistake of burning a CD for my entry from an MP3 file instead of the wave file. An mp3 that was only 128 kbps so it was compressed and the CD sufferred in quality vs. a CD burned from a wave file. Also, I had a little 'trip' in the guitar solo right after the intro on the entered version that I had corrected on a different take. They wouldn't let me re-enter the correct version so I just hoped for the best and actually made the finals with the bad version. I guess that's not too bad considering the mistakes.
Your tone is great. Especially given that you seem to be playing a Les Paul, and we all know around here that friends don’t let friends play Les Pauls. I am sure that some other members of this enlightened list will confirm this.
Seriously, what amp(s) do you use?
“Your tone is great.” Thanks! “Especially given that you seem to be playing a Les Paul, and we all know around here that friends don’t let friends play Les Pauls.” Hey! Them’s fightin’ words! Just kiddin’…
Tom,
There’s actually no amp involved. I use a Zoom 9002 that has analog effects and a built-in amp simulator run right into my sound card. Gettin’ two songs finalized for this year’s awards using the exact same setup, only I hope I’ve gotten better at mixing since last year!
