Thx Tommy!

I thought I told you not to screw it up!

I likes it! That our prize for bein’ sun deprived? :p

Not bad my friend - you sure do set a style.

About the style. I’m not sure what it is really. No thats not the prize.

My ears are fried for the day - too many sounds in my head,
I hate to leave you this way - but buddy I’m goin’ off to bed! Uh huh, Oh baby - I gots to get to meh bed
That’s what I said…
If you wonder where I’m goin’ If you miss me I ain’t dead,
But I will be if my body don’t lay dow - own like I said - uh huh, Oh baby - I just gots to get to bed…

I’m surprised that you could play it this late! I can’t lol see ya tomarrow!

Good Job Levi, listened with cans this a.m. so can’t say on the mix. Very ZZish, Brother Billy would be proud!
Will crank the speakers up later, not going anywhere today, seems I woke up to white stuff on the ground. Not sure what it is, maybe my buddy Tom Willis can explain this stuff. There seemed to be a lot of it in his road trip pic he posted.

Thx Zay!
This is a beta!
So when you get a chance, any tips will be helpful.
This song is not for the faint of heart!
But here again it’s Pappa Punky’s fault.
lol PP!
Oh yea all lyricist can offer up some tasty words would be cool.

Hmmm? Wondering if this forum is making me lazy
??? Well I think a dozen heads are much better than one.
Any questions?
Bring um on. How about the drums? Sound pretty cool, yea?
Levi

On the system I’m listening on now, the drums are not loud enough.
They where in my headphone mix but not now.
In fact they dominated.
The vocal is to loud and harsh in areas.
And the bass is to muddled.
Anyone agree or disagree?
thx

Low end is muddy. Overall lack of instrumentation definition. For me anyway - but I lean toward ‘clean.’

Yea that's what I'm hearing too, I appreciate it.
I uploaded this for opinions, not as a finished song.
I seriously doubt that I'll do anything to it untill later this evening.

I dunno…I’m hearing a mandolin part in there somewhere…

I disagree about your assessment of levels - vocals should always be the main thing.

Thx Cookie,
Shoot me a file I'll mix it in!
I think PW is write about the muddy bass.
And your right the vocals need to be up there.
Maybe a change of overall verb.
It's gonna sound cool I know that!
And this will be an awesome song live!
The jam could go anywhere.
I was very tempted to jump out of the triplets and onto my wawa.
Being in a big room with some players and cookin up ideas for this, at this point, is where the real fun would be! I truly value your opinion! Thx!

Thx Ange!
I almost missed this.
The song has been remixed and I used a poll to get engineering help on it.
You don't do flute do ya? But sure would love a flute track!

I'll play around with that song and see what happens, love a musical challenge! For you? Anything... All you have to do is ask!
It will be intresting to hear your voice added.
Is this a good key for you?

It won’t sound like Brian but I can get into it!
Ya I love that feel and little run down.

I know that you have cat class and style!

yup, I plays flute, well, I tries! all the flute in my songs (other than '0509') was me!
however I appologise, I was merely making an attempt at a joke, being that neither mandolin nor flute would sound appropriate in this track! guess it wasn't all that funny! that's why I normally leave the banter to you guys! :p
hehe... I tried.

Hey, can't wait to get going on strey cat, you is gonna do it well :)

I C well that's my fault because I like be experimental!
I would have put echo on the flute and made it sound heavy, make it awesome in some spots!

Yes this song will sound great. I'm not sure how soon it'll be but I'll jam on it tonight. You joker you!
Maybe we could make a music video with this and you could dance around wearing a cat like suit?
Yee haa!
I'll hook up the cams!

Leon Russell said that if you have a really funny voice to crank it way up in the mix and people would think it was neat. (he really did say that - he and Bob D should know)

His point was that no matter what the vocals sounded like, burying them in the mix was not a way to make them sound better or to cover any deficiencies. All it did was cause them to be buried in the mix and make them sound like someone was trying to cover something up, and did not accomplish the mission.

I say, slightly less effects on the voice, just a touch up in the mix.
