They have actually found Ice on Mars. What kind of ice remains to be seen.
I’d read about that somewhere… If you look closely at those linked images though, they look “Photo-shopped” to me. Just enough smudging to cover the “ice crystals”. Sorry… always the skeptic…
Save the image to your PC and then open it up in an app where you can zoom in a bit. In SOL 20, see how the area around the “ice crystals” are fairly sharp and you can see grains of soil? Then in SOL 24 the area is “smeary” looking?

if you look at the raw b&w pics they post you see the same “melting” effect.
I found the B&W images Poppa. That looks more like it. I think the color images are suffering a bit from aliasing. In the B&W pics, that one little piece near the middle looks like it leaves a tiny little puddle when it disappears. Coooolll…

Anyway, the story the press have is a misprint. If you look at the original NASA press release, it says; “Rice found on Mars”.
Looking at the pictures, it seems to me to be a Chicken Biryani, but what do I know?
