Stability!!!
Recorded 5 tracks this afternoon, ASIO, 24bit, 3-4 effects on each track, 1 group w/2 effects, 1 effect on the master channel. Mixed song. Rendered song to wav. Not a SINGLE problem/glitch/lockup/click/pop!!
v.5 awesome when you don’t have to fight it.
Great work Flavio!!
P.S. Any thought on updating the manual?
Jeff
Edit: I recorded 5 audio tracks but I cloned 3 so there were actually 8 tracks.
i get a ghost track everytime i open up the newest build,it opens up to a track with no timeline, and the vu meters clip to a pumping type motion, remove track, all seems cool, anyone else?

Hey wozz, One thing I did was to not use the old configuration when installing 2162.
HTH, Jeff
2162 is definitely getting there, but I’m still gettin a few odd things.
One thing I get is when I record a .wav file, truncate it in the timeline with the handles, copy and ctrl+shit+v a few times to loop it in the same track, if I then try to untruncate the last instance of the loop with the right hand handle then all of the copied loops of that .wav are stretched. I’m not certain about the repeatability but I’ve seen it at least twice and tried saving, exiting and relaunching N and it did not fix it.
I’m not sure that description was very good so I’ll try and illustrate. (this is a pretty frequent method I use for composing and laying down sketches and scratch tracks, I don’t know how common it is to work like this; I’ve been doing this since n-Track 2.x)
Say I record bass a part, I have 1 measure lead-in, four measures for the part and a one measure “tail.” that gives me this:
123456
I truncate the 1st and last measures to get this:
2345
ctrl+c to copy and ctrl+shift+v to paste at the end of the end of the track to loop the part and get this:
2345|2345|2345|2345
Then I untruncate the end of the last loop so the tail is included to get this:
2345|2345|2345|23456
But what I’m actually getting is this:
2345|23456|23456|23456
The first iteration of the loop is unchanged but all the copies are somehow “linked.” I am being very careful to select only the iteration I want to change. And it happens when I reset to defaults

Yep, I just tried it. Same thing here.

I was able to reproduce some erratic behavior in editing wave parts which had just been pasted. The problem should be solved in build 2163. If you try the new build please let me know if you still have this or similar problems.
Flavio.
Just installed build 2163. As with all other builds of v5 it seems to crash at random. I lost 4 hours work when it crashed and corrupted the sng file. The wav files were there but impossible to synch up. I never experienced any of these problems with any build of v4. I’m using the same hardware.
