Version 4.2.1 Build 2099
Hi!
When I drag and drop a region from the Regions Window, the whole waveform is dropped–not just the region.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a bug?
I searched the forums, but didn’t find the answer.
Thanks for your help,
Fuggle
you can only move a section out of a track it you splice(cut)the section first - but you can highlight an area of a track then copy and paste it to another track -
highlight area of track, then copy it, highlight the area of a track where you want the copy to go to, then paste -

just noticed your on V4 - copy and paste may only work correctly in V5 -

Hi–thanks for your response, Dr–
I think I understand what you’re saying, and that makes sense, but what you’re talking about doesn’t really sound like Regions, which should be a way to deal efficiently with what you’re talking about (selecting, copying & pasting). Copying & pasting works fine.
But what doesn’t make sense is why NTrack permits the designation of regions and the relative and intro placements of them, yet when dragging and dropping a region from the Region Window, the whole waveform is duplicated.
I’ve been using NTrack for probably at least seven years, but never knew about “regions” until last week when I started being taught how to use Pro Tools. I was delighted to see that NTrack has Regions, too–but bummed out because they don’t seem to work they way they (IMHO) should work.
Cheers,
Fuggle
