Need Help Please
Hi all,
I’m new to the forum and tried searching for this topic but found nothing. I’m using NTrack 4.1 and thought I would try EZ Drummer. When I try to load it I get an error message. “nTrack studio has encountered a problem an needs to close.” I’m going to the tool bar, then to add channel, add new instrument channel, VSTi, then EZ Drummer.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

First of all - welcome to the nut house … I mean forum of course.
I use EZ drummer but have also had fits - but not in the same area as yours. I bypassed ver. 4 and went from 3 to 5 so 4.1’s ability to handle it is unknown to me - even if you get it working in 4.1 you are going to have your work cut out for you compiling midi clips into one track. I’m sure others here that use EZD may have different things to say.
I have had to use an outside midi editor to compile tracks the import to n.
Yeah that ^^^ …
EZD works great in other apps. One big hurdle is method n-Track uses to handle MIDI data. I think it may addressed in the future but in the meantime, save yourself some hair pulling and use another app for EZD MIDI composition and audio file rendering and then import into n-Track. Or use the other app for all of it until n-Track is “fixed”.
Bottom line; EZ Drummer is a great tool that does not currently fit well into the n-Track paradigm. Hopefully, that will change in the not too distant future.
Oh… In regards to the crash, I never ran EZD in any build of n-Track V4. Sorry…
Have you tried the V6 demo? EZD works but the MIDI “thing” mentioned above is a PITA.

Thanks for the quick reply Poppa. I thought I had read where someone on this forum built tracks in Fruity Loops and imported them into nTrack because of some issues. I was just trying to confirm weather or not it might work with Ver 4.1
Looks like I might try something else though.

Nope Ken - really - concentrate on your music not the tecky nerdy stuff - you bought EZD - that tells me you want to create the best you can with what you have. Make it easy on the soul and import!
Dubious…
Thanks on the info. I may try Ver 6 demo to see what happens. No big deal although I do like the features of EZD. Thanks for the quick replies guys.

Poppa… I’ll probably end up importing as you said.
Not a problem - if you need any help with EZD let us know. We’re here for the long haul, or at least through Sunday - try the veal! and tip the waitress!
Ah well… what the hey… I’m sure I’ll get SMACKED for this but anyway…
Reaper is FABULOUS with EZ Drummer. If you don’t have another program to use until n-Track is “fixed”, try it. The demo is fully functional and unexpiring. Maybe it will get you by until n is fixed…
Okay… bring it on… sigh

I at least had the decency to tell him in a PM that that’s what I used for EZD - hmph!
sigh and double sigh
I never claimed to be decent!
Seriously, if someone else comes along with the same problem, they can find what they want with a forum search. It’s not a question of “decency” but efficiency. Flavio will get n-Track to working well with EZD I’m sure. Right now, use what you need to IMO.

You may have been referring to me. I use Fruity Loops to create my EZD tracks. nTrack will have problems hosting the VSTI in versions 4 and 5 (I haven't tried 6). Again I create all of my drum tracks in Fruity Loops. I export each drum and cymbal as their own separate wav file and import them into nTrack. I then EQ them in the host. All of my clips are recorded this way.
95% of the time I resample the drums with Drumagog. Drumagog works flawlessly within nTrack. I hope this helps.
I’ve been using EZ Drummer with Version 5 and now with Version 6. Not had many problems to be honest!! The only time I’ve had a crash is with importing the midi from one project file to another, so instead I make a copy of the project file and re-import the audio tracks. Other than that N-track seems to work fine with my copy of EZ Drummer.
I looked at Reaper, but didn’t spend too long, and I couldn’t work out how to bring up the piano roll in it, then gave up and went back to Ntrack! (-;
Err, anyone put in a bug report on this? Don’t have that nice bug tracker go to waste.
I at least had the decency to tell him in a PM that that's what I used for EZD - hmph!
