Who were the players in the band back then? - I didn’t see a picker list.

Should have figured! They all are great.
Danny Kortchmar and Russ Kunkel played on everything good for years!
I think I first noticed their names on my first James Taylor LP - could be wrong though.
Yep - I’ve got both versions of Page 43! Phoo - I had no idea that you liked Cros like you do.
Anytime you want to try colloborating on one - it would be a challenge but I’d be up for trying.
BTW - are we supposed to be able to play the song from that link you sent?
That site is all mixed up on which songs are Cros’s and which songs are Nash’s!
Also it’s funny because that line-up is basically James Taylor’s and Jackson Browne’s lineup during that time period. What a trip those guys must have had!
The song is in the player at the top left. There is also a link to a David Crosby radio. I’ve got access at work. Don’t know why, or if everyone will have free access.
I like the more non-traditional stuff he does - as you said ‘eclectic’. It’s kind of ironic that I’m not a fan of the The Dead Head stuff - as wonderful as some of it is - but I love the stuff they did backing up others and their older stuff - then again I was blow away by the live stuff from outdoors near the pyramids (wasn’t that with Billy Codham). Must be the the old hippie in me coming out.
I mention that because of the lineup on much of “If I Could Only Remember My Name.”

Saw them as the band for Linda Ronstadt in '74
Man that was great. Waddy was there too.
The Dead is not everyone’s cup of tea, and even though I’d like them, their music was extremely variable.
IMO - some of the “best” Dead music were on the solo albums and the band played back, e.g., Weir’s “Ace” and Garcia’s first solo album.
It was all “hippie” music but Cros/Nash were more vocally oriented and a little more “serious” than the Dead.
I mean they were all stoned out but there was a little more head stuff in Cros/Nash/Stills/Young (if you know what I mean).
BTW - I am still kickin’ myself for not going to see Waddy while I lived near LA. He & his band used to play during the week at this little place called The Joint. And it was reported that sometime’s big name “friends” like Keith Richards would show up.
