What’s going on?
All of a sudden the icon associated with the n-Track forum in my favorites folder has changed from the familiar to a new sort of free-form “VG” It’s displaying in my toolbar heading that way as well.
Anyone know what’s up with that?
The icon stored in the cached internet files probably got stomped on or corrupted. Deleting all temporary internet files might help.
Anyway, that file is named favicon.ico when it’s on the webserver. That’s special name that tells the browser to use it as the shortcut icon or when displaying the website.
Maybe there’s something in here that will help you clear it up.

A bit about them

So I take it - everyone else’s still looks the same and it’s just me…
Most likely. (Mine’s fine on three different machines.)
They can be a pain when the browser refuses to update to the new one. I ran into that when making the little purple drum for phootoons. I was trying different ones out and it wouldn’t update. I couldn’t figure out why what I just uploaded wouldn’t refresh. I actually gave up and eventually it looked like it should. Of course it looked fine on every other machine that hadn’t been there and downloaded the funky first attempt…
Thanks phoo - it seems to be back to normal now. Well, almost. Looks to me like the icon has changed - just a little bit - but I can’t say with certainty as these 50+ year old eyes don’t see small details as well as they used to and it could just be my imagination.
The hearing is the first thing to go…
Then in no particular order it’s the eyes the knees the feet and…
and…
What was IT I was gonna say
?
I always say that memory is the second thing to go. Then when someone asks (which they inevitably do) What’s the first? I say:
I forget.
Did you ever get all ready and go to the market for something you just had to pick up… By the time you got there you forgot just what it was and you came home with everything but the very thing you didn’t pick up…
Paper towel and toilet Paper… P-and-T is so far down the alphabet that you just can’t associate with the letters… But it’s two items that you almost can’t do without… Well…
So… tell us… Describe just what that icon looked like ??

At least it's not the sense of humour!

Thanks Tom.
Bill: it looks the same - really - but there is something going on on the right side (right from the observer’s point of view) that seems different to me - like a slider in a higher position than it was before. Now, the larger image of the logo (which appears below the menu to my left as I type) has two VU meters and a jog wheel on its right side (from the observer’s point of view) that could
(I suppose) account for what I’m seeing. But that logo is ‘canted’ to the right (i.e. its perspective is arranged so that it appears larger on its left side (from observer’s POV) than it does from its right side (from observer’s POV)so it’s difficult to be sure.
Anyway, I am almost certain there are more important issues to consider…
