Getting rid of the bottom left track bar elements

Hi,

a while ago someone else asked this same question, but I couldn’t find the thread anymore. I’d like to get rid of the mixer stripe options on the bottom left track bar. They’re always blocking the view of the downmost track.

Pull up the mixer

Click on the hammer under the Master Effects Box

The two bottom entries in the content sensitive menu allow you to turn of the buttons and the mixer strip.

...and that's why this question keeps getting asked over and over - the option to get rid of those things is in a place that is not "in-context". Why the heck put that option under the master effects box of the mixer window? Sorry Flavio, but it's a bit retarded.
:p

Can we please have some of the controls grouped in a more intuative manner? It seems that the option to get rid of those things should be in an "in-context" menu that should pop-up when you right-click on the left hand strip of the timline window...

Since we're on the subject: Can anyone esle think of some options that are "hidden" or not in the most logical place?

Hey, John, maybe you can start a new thread on this subject? That way it gets a relevant title instead of being…errr…hidden away :p

As for the option for hiding the “mixer strip selection” buttons, I remember first looking for it in the context menu for the bar where they are located, just as you described; I too think it would be logical to have it there. But I’d call the option “Show mixer strip selection buttons”, not “Show mixer strip selection in timeline” (less text since it’s in context–we’re obviously talking about the bar we’ve just right-clicked on).

I’ll copy this over if you start a new thread, John. And I’m sure I can think of a few other suggestions…

The way I see it … Half a dozen to one and six to the other. :p
Sure … it would appear as though it could be considered a left track bar element, seeing as how you can select to have the pop out mixer strip as an element in the track bar. Actually, the element is merely the button to call upon a mixer strip for said track. When pressed, that mixer strip manifests itself in its own separate window. Not as part of the track bar.
Likewise, the large mixer strips are a separate (un-dockable) window of the left track bar and somewhat an appendage of the mixer itself. Thus having it fall under mixer settings would be and is appropriate.
However, the six little buttons do appear in the track bar and could be considered an element. ???
I wouldn’t create another build just to add viewing the buttons as an option for selecting left track bar elements, but maybe a future build might include this.
I’m am no programmer, so I couldn’t even speculate as to how that option could even be developed and implemented seeing as how it does appear to be a mixer function.
Maybe it would be easier to have the buttons as tool-bar selections as opposed to being shown in the track bar.

Ah well … I love the program regardless and I can always use the the timeline scroll bar to move the lower tracks in to view unobstructed by the buttons.
