A Global Gig and Event Archive
I few months ago, I was trying to recall the great gigs I’d been to over the years, but when searching the www, found it difficult to find specific info about them, so I had the idea to create GigsRemembered - a single global resource for all gig and event memories and archives, to be built by visitors and users of the site.
Well that was then, the site has been somewhat dormant and un-promoted, but now I have re-visited the project and completely rebuilt the site, added more functionality and made it easier for visitors to register and use.
Now that’s done, its time to give GigsRemembered a push. Hopefully you’ll be interested enough to look around and let me know what you think, and maybe even archive some of the gigs you’ve attended, or the ones your band has played, or add your comments to the ones already there.
The site is completely free to use, and you can archive as many gigs as you want. GigsRemembered is supported by ‘non-intrusive’ GoogleAds’ at the bottom of every page (feel free to click).
So there you have it. Please let me have any comments, suggestions or other feedback. I think this idea for a website is pretty unique and it would be great if we could build on it.
Thanks

What a great idea, Paul!
OK, I added one, here:
http://www.gigsremembered.com/The_Willies/01Aug90/1416
Oops, it appears that I added it twice, Paul, Sorry 'bout that. One is only partial however…
I started to post the story about when I tried to kill the bass player in New Mexico - wanted a band name … you have any idea how many bands… never mind.
Do I just pick any name for the 243 bands I’ve been in?
Hi
Looks good TomS.
I’ve deleted your ‘partial’ entry.
Curious how you did it. Was it a glitch I should know about, or just finger trouble?
Poppa - enter the gigs for all 243 bands if you like
or just pick one and tell the story.
Its interesting to see how people will use a site like this, and in what direction it might go in.
All welcome.
Cheers
Pa
Paul, I have no clue how I did it, I’m that talented.
Hi pasher and Gents:
Thank you for posting the information regarding your Motagator and Gigsremembered Sites over here.
It’s nice to see your ideas flourishing so well…
I’m still on a Dial-up over here… It leaves me at a disadvantage…
I’d like to have a faster connection speed…
Then I’d spend more time browsing your pages.
I tried to log on but I couldn’t remember the password that I created with Don Gaynor and i…
It was way back in n-Track v2-v3 Days that we did some tracks for those projects…
Don and You-and-I posted quite a bit here on this Board.
AND… others…
Were those ever great days…
Bill…
Hi Bill
You really must get a faster connection
Is it that its not available where you are - I do remember you saying once that you are at the end of a very long bit of wire?
You can do a password reset on both GigsRemembered and Motagator if you want, or if you can’t remember the username, let me know.
I think those tracks we all worked on are still there on Motagator. It was fun. Not done much recording recently, but still lurk here and at Audiominds, just keeping an eye on y’all
Cheers
Pa
Hi Pasher:
When I attempted to log on to the Motagator page with the ID and password I thought I used the site gave me an “UNABLE” …
I sent an E-Mail address and got the data Base to mail me the password…
Your page works perfectly…
I logged onto the gigsremembered Page and registered my ID and E-Mail address and all…
Your Data Base,System and Profile-and-All works just great…
I need to complete my Profile Page…
I thought about the “Fields” that need to be completed…
It’s something that poppa willis refers to in his earlier reply…
Over the years I worked on many different stages…
and I covered a lot of country here in Canada.
BUT…
mostly here in Good’ole Nova Scotia.
However, I’d like to re-post the video clips I have over on YouTube…
If that’s O.K.
with you…
A number of these guys are not with us anymore…
Time takes it’s toll on our health…
Sense I posted this stuff (on YouTube) for public viewing, I’m getting many of the Family members mailing me saying how nice it is to see their departed Relatives-and-Friends doing what they spent most of their lives doing…
Most of the mail I get from these people never knew that these video clips existed…
I know there’s miles of this footage out there somewhere…
I’m not having much luck getting any of this stuff from people that may have this stuff, to place on the Internet…
AND…
I know there’s lots of photos out there, as well…
that could be organized for viewing.
I can tell you, we put on some great parties…
Isn’t that what’s playing music is all about. ?
Bill…
p.s.
I dont see much of Don Gaynor up here anywhere…
I sure hope he’s well-and-all…
I see that he’s been active on his Motagator Page…
However, I forgot to pay attention to the dates he posted his projects.
I know pasher and all you great Music Makers…
I owe to myself and you, as music creators, to be able to hear properly all this music that you post…
