How much is the education system influenced

by the Heathen Leftists?

:D
Well.... Touche'.

The hard-liners (either side, but you know who you are) are quite becoming quite tiresome. Don't you guys have anything else to talk about?

This poll is bogus but I assume that it was meant to be.

No, it's a legitimate poll. I got to vote and everything! This is JUST LIKE being on the Senate floor! The only difference is we can't "vote" ourselves a raise like they can. :(

With such a tongue in cheek post, I'm guessing you think I am a liberal hardliner or as you put it a "Heathen Leftist". Nothing could be further from the truth.

I believe I stated in my post very clearly that I was interested in this latest trend for people here and in the media to talk about fundamental Christian Right-wing beliefs becoming part of public policy in this country.

As far as other things to talk about, how about wood-working, guitar repair, concert recording, psychology, carpentry, astronomy, plumbing design, CAD design, slight of hand, microwave water heaters, instrument building, bluegrass, music theory, computer design, quakerism, CPU design, practical invention, Wes Montgomery, alcoholism, electrical engineering, classical guitar technique, scales and their application in blues and jazz, masonry, landscape design and implementation, polarized lens design and usage, hybrid car design, advanced speaker design, environmental issues, catholicism, Charlie Christian,..... and on and on.

Mike

You have heathen teachers John? i.e. “people of the heath”, in other words; the non-civilised folks.

Or are they modern heathens? i.e., they dance about bare-arsed in front of the class, occasionally jumping over bon-fires. (Which is when they learn the major drawback to being bare-arsed!)

Ali

“Heathen Leftist” - That’s me, and I’m influencing the education system RIGHT NOW!!!

Wanna know how? I’m paying for it in the form of taxes, taxes and more taxes, then after that…you guessed it - more taxes. So I think I have a right to ask for an unbiased education.

I’ll save the rant for another time…

If that's the case, I want more Heathens, my son's teacher is pretty hot! If there's "bare-arsed" fire dancing goin' on - I'm going back to kindergarten!

Yeah, and my kid just brought home another box load of that friggin' candy to sell.

And at the end of the last school year, the State people were on the news raving about the education budget SURPLUS!! This sounds like d$%m social security. You know what they did with the surplus? Obviously they invested heavily in a certain candy maker based in Hershey, Pennsylvania!! :D :D

Now they want my eight year old to schlep door to door and hock the crap off on neighbors.... can you tell this pisses me OFF!?!?!

TG

The way I look at it, they’re getting a great education, and are looking forward to a bright career in the chocolate marketing field right?

You’re pretty lucky - our school budgets are stretched so tightly that we have the shortest school year in the country, and they are combining schools in order to eliminate any semblance of education. We live across the street from an Elementary School - and can’t even send our kid there, because he speaks English! (Go Figure). We have to drive him across town to another school that teaches in English. Because the ESL program is stretched so thin from non-english speakers flocking to the area.

Not only that, but the local politicos are screaming because the Federal funding in gone, and the local has to fill the gap, so they enacted new taxes to cover the shortfall. (Thanks for the tax break Shrubbie -$11,000 and counting!)

But at the same time they can afford to hire a new Superintendant of Schools at $350,000 a year!

Funny I thought school budgets were for educating children, not paying Administrative paper-pushers to sit in extravagant lunch meetings on my $.

I’m hyperventilating again, where’s my paper-bag!

.-=gp=-.

Chutz,

I agree completely with the gross waste of money going on in schools today. The school I teach at has a $50,000 per year salary cap. The funny thing is that only school administrators are getting that much. You should vote out the school board and fire that Superintendant. $350,000 a year is obscene.

Mike

I’m SURE that the supposed surplus was divvied out as fat bonuses for all the upper echelon. Now this year, the poor turds are starving again.

TG

It’s just a joke, my friends. Just trying to say that some topics can be so divisive that they really don’t serve a useful purpose here, and that it would be better if we tried to find more things that we have in common.

Let’s go hug a tree.
Peace, love, and happiness.
Legalize pot.
Outlaw affirmative action.
School is for learning and should be an unbiased institution that teaches students to formulate their own opinions.
Pro-choice.
God created evolution.
Teachers are underpaid.
CEO’s are overpaid.
The Enron folks should be in jail and stripped of their assets.
OJ did it.
Michael Jackson is probably guilty.

Go figure.

Hey TG,
Having worked at one the largest distributors of fundrasing candy in the eastern PA area, and the like, for 3 years. I can tell you this much I have learned about the Hershey Corporation.
That fund raising candy is sold at a loss, by the company. And by some right's considered charity. You have to have an official charity or church, or school with a registed licence in order to purchase it, from the distributor.
But investing any surplus in such a ocompany would be wise IMHO.
Since it seem no matter where the economy goes, Chocolate will always be the opiate of the masses...lol

jerm

Now, the way I see, 350,000 is only too much if you assume that markets should not drive wages, since able adminstrators are rare creatures indeed. So you guys must be raging heathen leftists for saying anything negative about it. Socialists, too!
:)
