I’m trying to put some of my songs on my myspace site, and apparently they take only mp3s. I see that ntrack says to download bladeenc for this, but I cannot figure out how to unzip that file after it’s downloaded. In other words, I cannot figure out how to convert them to mp3s. I’d appreciate your help!
Right click on the file and select Extract All to unzip the files. Unzip all files to …
-Track Studio 5\BLADEENC
I’m using 3.3 and even after I put BladeEnc into the BladeEnc folder under the nTrack home folder it is telling me I don’t have BladeEnc installed.
Any idea how to fix this? Is this a known issue with 3.3?
Thanks!
You can always try a different converter. DbPowerAmp is what I use along with Goldwave. I think free trials are available. You can also search “wave converter” or something similar. I think there are a few out there. If you have CD burning software, it might also be capable of “saving as” mp3 or other formats.

Musicmatch and iTunes are free and will do it. DbPoweramp used to be free; I think they are shareware now.
Here’s a whole boatload of MP3 software links (many free):

(Hitsquad.com/smm is an excellent place to start if you’re looking for audio software…)
It’s well worth trying different encoders.
The MP3 decoder definition is very precisely defined, and they all work the same way, more or less.
It’s very different with encoders, the definitions are much looser. So the algorithms used vary a lot. The psychoacoustical standards vary even more. So try different ones and see what you like.
Thank you all for your responses but I was just curious as to whether not working well with BladeEnc was a bug in 3.3. I assure you that I’ve got several other ways to make mp3s.
Go here or here or here or here for proof thereof.
Note that several of these “heres” feature the same recordings and only the first “here” has tunes I’ve recorded using nTrack. This is because I’ve only recently recovered my reg code and started to try and learn/relearn nTrack. More tunes from nTrack Studio are in the offing.
I can no longer remember for sure for sure what differences between 3.3, or 4.x were. But I don’t remember having a problem with bladeenc with any version, as long as I put bladeenc into the right place and bladeenc wasn’t corrupted.

Oh super! Now it’s doing it to me with 5.0.2191
ETA: No, resetting to defaults didn’t fix it, just FUd my configuration!
ETA: Okay, reinstalling n-Track seems to have fixed it. So DC3443, try reinstalling N.
