Hey, y’all, I’m using n studio on Android and recording with headphones. My base track keeps bleeding over into the audio track and there’s nothing it seems I can do. I don’t know much about routing and all that, would someone be able to point me in the right direction for how to make the mic only record my voice?
Im not sure if this will help, but it’s worth a try. I don’t know that I have ever had the bass actually bleed into the vocal, but as with all instruments they can share some significant frequencies.
There are two methods that will help. If you have software that will let you see the frequencies you can “carve-out” a space for the vocal in the bass track. iZotope has software the will allow you to see both tracks and show you where the masking is occurring - but you can do the same thing just by ear. Sometimes I will pan the bass slightly to one side, maybe 4 degrees. But I think that may be more help to the drums than the vocal.
(note: what you may be hearing is the bass and the vocal trying to share the same note/frequency even a harmonic. Guitars frequently do this but we seldom put the vocal and the guitars both centered.
