Freesound is usually good for things like this but not this time!

Lots of free stuff there. When a friend of mine, who is a bad singer, sung an Oasis song at our staff party. I put the applause from The Royal Albert Hall on it before I gave him the recording

Yep! I use it sometimes for backgound sounds for jingles I do for friends in the Hotel trade. They have some nice ambient sounds.
The band Boston ripped a crowd noise from a Wings live album I think, for the track “Rock n Roll Band” on their debut album. Probably not much help to you buddy, but I just LOVE displaying my encyclopedic knowledge of utterly useless information…
