I put the video online. If you’re interested goto Video. Click on Music & then on “Everybody Knows This is Nowhere”. Unfortunately, Verizon does NOT stream the .mov file, i.e., it is downloaded before it is played, so don’t do this unless you have DSL.
Warning - if you don’t like Neil Young, this video may have an adverse affect on you
er, uh, hey, buddy, pssst-
Could you post a slightly smaller file?
12.6MG geeez loooueeeez. something in the 2 or 3MG area?
I have DSL and it said 11 minutes. Of course verizon says speed up to 700 something, but that’s no near what I have been finding with them.
Seems every since they ran that 14.99 special speed has greatly reduced. My guess is they have too many costomers sharing the existing bandwith.
here’s the direct link guys:

Also could you make it a more standard format? wmv. or avi. seem to be common at least for streaming porn! Not that I know anything about that, but I have had access to one of The Who’s computers…lol!
Mov. is not even a supported file type for windows Media player, at least the 98SE version, codec unavailable, err. Roxio might play it, but when I have time later…bro.

Hey Jerm - it shouldn’t take that long to download if you have DSL. Actually, Quick Time has the highest quality for the smallest size. My provider doesn’t support .wmv or I would use it. AVI are REALLY large, so you don’t use them.
A 2 or 3 MB video would be terrible quality. Remember it contains audio too & the audio alone wouldn’t be that small.
Yo Mike,
If you want to convert it to WMV I’ll load it up on my site for you and post a link here. I’m not using any of my alotted bandwidth right now while I design a new site.
Cheers,
Bill.
Bill - thanks for the offer but I can create any format I want using Vegas Movie Studio. However, my providers doesn’t support .wmv which is why I used QT. Actually QT is a little smaller than .wmv for equivalent quality.
er um, -pssst MIKE!
He was offering to host the file for you…
Weird thing about Verison DSL.
I reset the modem,(SHUT IT OFF THEN BACK ON) and now my speed is back up. It only took 2-3 minutes this time.
However the mov. file just won’t play, even in Roxio, a software I got with a DVD burner.

Mike -
Jeremy got it right. The offer stands, if you'd like me to host the file for you I'd be happy to do it.
Jeremy -
If you don't have the Quicktime codec installed on your system none of your proggies will play the file.
Bill.
Jerm,
Go get yourself Quicktime alternative. It will allow you to play all the QT files and will give you a really nice media player too. The media player is Media Player Classic and it plays just about anything you throw at it including DVDs and VOB files.
Tanks Doc,
I did download the quick time u suggested.
One problem, it only works with windows 2000.(that’s what it said when i tried to install it.
I use 98SE.
Of course you’d know that if you read the thread!

Of course if you bought my old computer like you said you might do, then you would have Windows XP.

Sorry, I got you the wrong one for Win 98... misread the download. If you still want it, you can get the Win 98 version here.
