I Can't Get My Guitar Plugin (ML Sound Lab Amped) To Make Any Sound in the DAW

I have been a longtime nTrack studio user (late 90s). I create a new track and add the plugin. It shows it as an effect for the track and it is on. When I play it just produces the unaffected tone of my guitar (clean). I checked my audio settings and it shows my audio interface as the in and out. When I go to the track and press the little speaker button the “Live” button lights up and I can hear the plugin but it is producing a double sound of the plugin and there is quite a bit of lag. When I turn it off it goes to the unaffected tone of my guitar with no lag. My Fractal FM9 works perfect.

Am I doing something wrong? What can I do to use my guitar plugins with no lag so I can record?

Thank you!

When the live echo is on you’re probably hearing the guitar signal both through n-Track and through direct monitoring of the audio interface. Make sure you turn off the direct input monitoring of the audio interface so that you only head the signal coming out of n-Track. If you’re hearing noticeable latency, try selecting Asio drivers if available (I’m assuming you’re on Windows). Check this video tutorial on how to configure audio drivers for low latency

I am using a Mac and will try what you recommended.
