Was that a ballad? I have no idea what I’m writing when I write. Do you guys? I mean, when you write?

No. 'cause that would involve thinkin'.

Generally I do think long and hard about my songs - partly because I'm often writing christian worship songs so I want my message to be conveyed accurately, and also because I want what I write to be as good as it possibly can be.
I think the old adage "10% inspiration, 90% perspiration" comes in. I've had a few songs end up on cds or (low key) commercial releases only to listen back a year later and say to myself "what was I thinking?" - y'know - the "moon, june" type rhymes or whatever.
But I'm not very prolific with my writing so I can afford to take things gently.
Saying that, at the end of term (last month) I wrote a song with each one of my guitar students as an exercise at the end of term. Thirty+ songs, each written in 30 mins, writing by "brute force" to prove a point. Great fun. Complete rubbish songs, but I wanted to get the point across that song writing doesn't happen when you get inspired and a song falls into your lap all finished. It starts with inspiration but ends up with being polished and worked on.
Anyway, I've written half an essay.
One person’s rubbish is another’s garbage pail.
scamfighter told these guys are scammers and just want your money. Stay away! From what they gave me, I can’t imagine that any of these “premieressay reviews” are actually real.
