just bought an instrumental cd with guitar and percussion. the musicians are very good but for some crazy reason they put a heavy reverb (more like an echo) on the whole thing and spoiled it.
is it possible to reduce or remove the reverb completely- i know probably not, but there’s a lot thats changes since '92 when this was recorded.

I haven’t heard of a tool for that but anything is possible. I’ll have some time tomarrow to do another search.
Depending on the contents, it may be possible to do - but not without affecting the overall sound. Try putting the sound through a noise gate with the level set quite high - it should get rid of the extraneous reverb, but unfortunately, also the subtler decay characteristics of the instruments.
