Manual crossfade between two audio tracks?

Hello, I have two audio tracks I would like to be able to crossfade back and forth manually. By this I mean when I turn a control in one direction, it gradually turns up the volume on one audio track while it turns down the volume on the other. And when I turn in the other direction, vice versa. Some type of manual crossfader control. Is it possible to set up something like this on N-Track? Thanks! -Jon

Jon,

if the tracks are mono or if it’s ok to mono them, you could send two tracks to a group channel, add two instances of the gain plugin to the group, set one track panned hard left and the other hard right, set the 2nd gain plugin stereo width to 0, then you could use the pan knob of the 1st gain plugin to crossfade between the two tracks. Otherwise for stereo tracks (keeping them stereo) the only thing I can think of is using two faders (possibly on a midi control surface), I can’t think of a way of using a single fader/knob.

Flavio.

Ok, great idea Flavio! Thank you very much.
