Cant select card as recorder
…Anyone know how to select a new sound card as the one to record with while leaving an old sound card as the one to play back with. I can see the new card but the computer does not allow me to choose it as the new recorder.
I’m not sure why you would want to do such a thing, but you should be aboe to go into “Preferences”–>“Recording” Settings–>“Audio Devices” and set your playback to one card and the recording to the other.

Tried that, prior to posting the question. It did not work. After doing a bit more checking into my motherboard I found I have to disable the first soundcard. It does not like to share. Something I did not want to do.
Thanks for the reply.
If Windows can “see” both of the cards (ie the drivers are properly loaded), then both should work fine in n-Track.
The soundcards built on the motherboards are not the best things to use - especially if you have another card - so you are better off avoiding it.

HOLA.
THE M AUDIO PC CARDS IS INSTALLED IN THE PC, AND THE CONTROL PANEL (OF THE CARD) IS CONFIGURATED IN THE PATCH BY ROUTED IN MONITOR MODE. MY DELTA 44 WORK IN N-TRACK BERY GOOD BUT THE CONTROL PANEL IS IMPORTANT. THE CONFIGURATION OF THE CARD IS OPTIONAL FOR YOU, READ THE MANUAL. MAY BE…
If it helps any, I’m also having problems with the Maudio 192 card. I find that the ASIO drivers and MME drivers work okay, but WDM drivers do not seem to work at all. I’m guessing this card is fairly new, although the ICE1712/Envy24 Chipset has been around a while (same as 2496), there are some changes in the card architecture. I’ve noticed that the Linux driver module works beautifully with the 2496 but won’t work with the 192 card. So watch out for new drivers, some issues will probably get fixed in the next few months.
