Memories

new ballad…

Memories by Danny Milligan @ Youtube

The Lyrics for this song:

There’s fewer days ahead, than there are behind
and all I have are these shadows in my mind
happy faces from so long ago
happy people I no longer know
They surround me, and keep me company
I spend my time all alone, with my memories
they bring me joy, and a tear or two
they echo days, long gone, that I spent with you
I can’t let them go, they’re all I have
can’t turn my back on what used to be
Somehow I let you slip through my fingers
til all that’s left of you and me…

are memories, just old memories…

The winter nights seem to last all year
and Summer thoughts never find me here
Silence, hand in hand, with the candlelight
old heartaches, whispering in the night
happy voices, re-sing old songs
from happy days, when I once belonged
I hear a laughter from far away
old reflections from better days
I can’t let them go, they’re all I know
and my chances have faded away
what used to be, can never be again
so now I only spend my days

with my memories
just my memories

Bill…

thank you bill :)

:agree: Your lyrics are beautiful, really well writen and have struck a real chord with me, Very nice song :agree:

you certainly know how to write a sad song danny!
but it sounds to me like those lag problems are back with a vengance & after you managed to get rid of them which spoilt it

I'm afraid what you're hearing as lag may just be odd style in writing, Tina, particularly with the piano parts, I was (trying to) emulate the style of Bruce Hornsby, and since I'm not as good as he is at it, it may sound odd to others...

:(

The poem goes deeply in the heart. The lines which attracted me are

"happy faces from so long ago

They surround me, and keep me company
I spend my time all alone, with my memories"!

Very nice Danny.
The lyrics are ace
