I have a Boss Gigcaster 8 with 8 PADs normally used for sound effects and what not during streaming. However, they do output Midi CC commands. N-Track can see them. Is it possible to use these 8 pads to control drums? I believe the answer is NO as CC messages are purely for controlling parameters such as Pans and Volumes and such. However, it is the client software that determines what to do with any midi signal so perhaps it is possible.
Yes. Check this video out:
Thank you. I have watched that video and it showed me how to control parameters in N-Track like Pans, Volumes and effects using the Midi CC messages (i.e. “midi learn”). What I was hoping is to use the Pads on my Gigcaster 8 to trigger N-Track Drums so I could finger-tap beats. I believe a Midi CC message is unable to trigger notes - full stop - it is only used for param control. That said, seems the client sw, in theory, could process a CC message as a note and be assigned to the N-Track Drums. Is such a thing possible?
