midi editing

very nice

I’ve been playin with my new controller and midi drummer instrument plug in. Man what a piece of cake it is to edit in midi. So much you can do. I’ve always loved to edit from the first time I got handed a gem blade to leader a 1/4 inch tape. I always thought that kind of control was possible with midi but never had the tools. I’m lovin’ it!
Just like everything else I’m sure it will be key to not go too far with it, or take it to extremes. My EZdrummer instrument is incredible, and the line 6 in and out is holding up nicely. Sorry D - I think it’s a keeper! :agree:

Are you using N to edit midi?

Oh well... :p

I am excited that it's working out for you Poppa. I'm still fretting over the Line 6 KB37 or the M-Audio Axiom 49. There are pro's and cons for each. Just gotta make up my mind and go for it...

Check your email PW. I (belatedly) replied to your query. I'll do better when the futz and schmutz dies down at the salt mine.

Yes - for the final 'touchy feeley' tweaks. But with my line 6 keybd. no, they don't like each other yet, and I'm fully convinced it's not an n or line 6 problem but a vista one.

Just the piano roll in n for now - I'm swapping out an xp machine from work to use as my daw. That will tell the tale I'm sure.

So PW, are u using keyboard contoller?
or a pad controller or what?
I finally saw the Utube video - yeh that’s ultra. :O
Things are getting better really fast.
The Addictive Demo is pretty much the same as EZ.

I had a blast loading up ‘Chainer’ with both
BFD and Addictive going at the same time. WOW - what a trip.
You can put a different map on each one, and I’m using
just that MPD-16 pad controller to trigger both. Why not
2 drummers playing different kits - like the ‘Dead’ used
to do. If I ever get the kits I want together and get this
MIDI guitar thing straight, I may actually start recording some
stuff.

I’m learning my Line6 KB37 - seven - EZD is awesome mostly for the sound shaping capabilities of different kits and mixing. I’m in love! I’ll try a test tune with 2 drummers and see how it comes off.

Here you go seven - check this thing I threw together for ya.

2 drummer test for seven

Listen to the cymbal ring at the end - awesome…

Nice groove, I like that. Easy(?) big drums is what
I’ve always dreamed of. Another major step for players
all over. Everything is coming together, I can feel it.
I think there is going to be an explosion of great music.
You’re probably one of those - who can sit down anytime of
day - pick up your axe and crank out something on the
’hit’ side. Me too, I think.
I found this ‘Hi-speed’ gaming
computer place in Bethany Beach DE, where I can finally
check out the Song competition. (Still on dial-up myself)
Wasn’t ready for this one, but definately next time.

Heh-heh… that’s great Poppa. I’ll wager it took you less than an hour to put together? Including tracking the guitars and everything? It doesn’t SOUND like it! That’s why I love EZD. You can go from idea to disk in minutes.

Yea it’s really easy - I dropped in a fews clips - layed guitar one and two down did a synth bass line and all in about 20 minutes. I thought immediately about doing better parts - then I remembered how I get into bigger productions too easily, so I stayed on course for learning EZ drummer and hand edited a few rifs.

It’s so nice to have a great foundation to build on though.

Yeh,
Forgot to mention that cymbal keeps going and going.

I like using midi a lot. I finally got over my preconceptions of what midi is.
The control is amazing.
