Mitch Mitchell RIP

Sing on brother,play on drummer…

Played his dupa off for Hendrix
Got the gig on a coin flip story goes,it was either Mitch or Ansley Dunbar, coin came down in favor of John" Mitch" Mitchell and the rest is history.Sad thing for a old Experience fan,now it really does seem over…

:agree: Go get the DVD, those two where true magic! Mitch was as unbelievable as Jimmy him self.

Levi my friend,I have everything and more ever put out of Hendrix.
Ive got stuff Jimi didnt even know he did, like soundchecks from various concerts(on vinyl yet!)Been a collector for as many years as I been diggin hendrix, which is now over 40 years
But thanks for the tip holmes,I knows ya meant well…

Have you ever been to Electric Ladyland…

I think that it was after listening to MM that I realized what a difference a good drummer makes. Mitch was great on Hendrix’s “Are You Experienced” - I can remember the drummer in my high school band struggling to learn those rolls, but it was on Electric Ladyland that I really remember MM shining through. Those studio-phased drum parts were quite a hit in my mis-spent, drug enduced youth

I bought the best of Hendrix for my son (who’s now 16) and he loves it.
