mixdown file plays fast

when playing mixdown in wm,it plays fast

Can anyone tell me what settings i need to configure in order to play a mixdown at regular speed?

If you mix it down - to what sampling rate do you mix it down ?

Is that the same as your recording settings ?

Does it play at the wrong speed when you open it again in N or another app ?

Hi Bayt_Elazar and Wihan:
As I was browsing the topics and found your question, here… I am thinking that your time-line could very well be playing back at 44.1khz. instead of 48khz. Could this be why your repro is “Fast”… ??

Bill…

Thanks for the responses so far. I have done some tests but still the same result. This only happens when i “mix down while playing”. It doesn’t matter what sampling rate i choose it still condenses the song to half the playing time and plays it twice as fast.
I am still open for any more suggestions.

Mix down off line and see what you get.

Hey Bubba, it works fine when mixdown is done offline. I was hoping to be able to mixdown while playing so that i could apply some effects on the fly.
I’ve looked at the preferences a hundred times…can’t figure out what to do.
Any more suggestions?

Mixdown when playing simply routes what you hear to a file. What format are you mixing to? You said all sample rates but what format and what device is the output selection in the mixdown dialog? That can be different than the playback selection in the preferences. Would it be possible to post a short mixed wav file?

Phoo, the mixdown is going to WAV format and the device is the Microsoft Sound Mapper.

By format I mean, sample rate and bit depth.

FYI: I hit something similar to this. I was playing a song, hit the stop button and then hit the play button again. SOME of the tracks played like chipmunks and some played normal. After that I got a opening wave error. Exiting teh app and testarting it fixed it…avaoid it. I have not been able to repro it again.

This is definitly a bug of some kind. I have never seen that happen in any build before.

I’ve tried all the sample rates at the same bit rate and depth. i have the 16 bit license but when i mixdown i choose the soundcard’s settings. the depth is always one.
i’m still trying to figure out how to post the sample for you.
