Another scenario I’ve considered (but haven’t tried yet) is to set up a VNC server on my desktop machine running nTrack, and control it from the other room via a VNC session running on a wireless laptop.
I tried that a while ago. It was painful, but you may have better results. Let us know…
I have considered investing in a tranzport, but I am still unsure about the implementation for n-Track… - Tranzport has a lot of useful facilities I would like to see supported in n-Track: The ability to arm several tracks, mute, solo, undo, track select, loop setup etc. It would probably require a lot of reworking of n-Track’s internal control structure to make all those functions available, but it would be a great benefit to have some of them…
Maybe consider a VGA extension cable. I got a 50’ about a year ago via ebay (brand new - buy it) for about $18 US (from a place in Wisconsin, if I remember right). They also had other lengths available.
Poor idea. I had a very blurred image on my new 17" LCD monitor until I removed the VGA extension cable (3 meters long!) and reattached the monitor - crystal clear picture. (BTW, this wasn’t a problem earlier when I used a 15" monitor and a lower screen resolution)
I guess this would not be a problem with a monitor with digital input…

Flavio…?
If Flavio is to spend time on external control possibilities for n-Track, I think the first thing to do would be creating a more complete set of keyboard shortcuts. Next would be support for controlling the user interface by MIDI events. There is vast amount of soft- and hardware solutions that you could use with n-Track, if this is done.
There probably wouldn’t be much need for supporting overpriced custom gadgets then…
