My Daughters high school band.

Used build v2690

Howdy,

I used build 2690 last night to record my daughter’s high school band.
They decided to take on Hindemith.
Yikes!
We were never that ambitious back in my day.
LOL.

Here’s the track:
Symphoney in B flat

For this recording, I used the handy file split feature:
CTRL+SHIFT+D.
Easy for me to remember since my initials are D.C.S.
Thanks again, Flavio!!

Hi dmp-potn:

The technical capture is phenomenal…
The noise floor is non-existent…

Tell us what hardware you use and what mic(s) you use…
Is the recording a stereo file????
Do you add any processing to the finished render ?

They are pretty darn good, aren't they? (Not exactly a fan of Hindemith, but...)

Howdy Bill,
Gosh, you're very kind.
Thanks so much for having a listen.
You just made my day!
:)

The recording is a stereo file that I did at 24-bits, 88.2kHz using a Creative E-MU 0404 USB audio interface with native ASIO drivers.
No processing--just trimed and faded the ends.

Mics were Rode NT5 with shock mounts.
Mic pre was a Behringer XENYX 1002B, which I actually prefer over the integrated E-MU mic pre for both sonic and practical reasons (the E-MU pre gain controls are super touchy).

Still saving up for Great River pres, a Korg deck, and Schopes mics, but I don't hate the budget rig that I have now.
;-)

Cheers and thanks again.

SCHOEPS
Mikrofon-Set :)
:agree:
EH…
You’re gonna like them, when you unload your pocket book for a set of them…
:p

I worked with a guy who struggled selling PA Equipment when I managed the Service Dept at the Musicstop…
He bought a set of Schoeps Mics, and went right into Audio Production for the Movie Industry…
He works around the world now…
A top Audio Guy…

Anyone who invests in mics like them graduates to the top of the production heap…

You gonna make me a present of them when you’re done with 'em ?
hehe

Bill…

Moved.

That recording really does sound incredibly CLEAN! Awesome playing by the way too! Great recording! :agree:

Yup! Stunning job, all round. What else you got?

Howdy,

Thanks again.
I kind-of like this percussion piece (good crowd interaction):

Twelve Days of Christmas (MP3)

Twelve Days of Christmas (24-bit, 88.2kHz FLAC)

Oh, and I did video (just a little flip camera on a tripod) of the three Hindemith movements with the audio from above:

Symphony in B flat - 1st movement

Symphony in B flat - 2nd movement

Symphony in B flat - 3rd movement

Thanks again for having a listen/look and for the encouragement.
:peace:
