My first Short Film Soundtrack

in 2 hours

Got a call from a college friend from church - she needed a soundtrack over the weekend - this is what happened when I turned nTrack on and went whit what came to me. It’s nothing like I would have expected from me. I like it - hope it makes sense in her short film - I had nothing but a short story summary to work with.

Spontaneous Soundtrack

I can see this working nicely in a film short.

I could pop this on in the car on a long stretch and just chill…

Thanx Craig - we were talkin in another post about mistakes making final mixes. The guitar in this track at 32 seconds in you can hear where my string bend went off the neck on the e string - I tried to duplicate it later on and could not. But the end of the bend falling off the fret make a cool sound.

The other mistakes are just plain sloppy playing and not taking time to fix it.

I hear it but it sounds like it’s meant to be there.

I remember going to a “guitar clinic” with Tommy Tedesco in about 1980, and the one piece of advice that stuck with me was when he said “make the mistakes sound like they belong.”

Anyway, it’s a cool little piece, Tommy.

thanks - I played drums on that too. Alesis sr-16 - and without a click track!
I am getting sooooo lazy.

You mean that drum track is just you hitting those little pads? Quantized or not?

Yea - what he said!

Quanersized to the 8th I believe - no swing.
I over dubbed the crash and ride and toms live for ‘feel’

I can just see the pic of the Sierra Madre bandito here with a stratocaster strapped over his ammunition belt saying, "Click Track!? We don’t need no stinking CLICK TRACK!

I’ll do one up in photoshop tomorrow and have the t-shirts ready by next week.
