n-Track for Windows mouse capture too aggressive

I’ve come across this problem a couple of times now - I mixdown a song, and n-Track opens a File Explorer window when it’s finished. I then want to copy this to another folder, so I bring up another File Explorer with that folder. However, if I drag and drop from the Exported Audio window into this new File Explorer, and the drag moves across n-Track in the background, it captures the mouse movements so after the copy has finished I find I am moving one of the parts in a track around, but n-Track doesn’t seem to see a “mouse button up” event so I cannot stop this behaviour until I close n-Track and open it again, by which time I’ve no idea where the part was originally, and I have to go back to a snapshot to restore the state of the song.

This usually happens at the end of a session and I have to spend time restoring my project when all I want to do is pack up so it’s very frustrating!

Hope you can reproduce and fix this

Ian Johnson.

Hi Ian,

We’ve tried to reproduce the issue following your steps, but so far we haven’t been able to replicate the behavior on our end.

Could you possibly post a short video showing the problem as it happens? That would help us better understand what’s going on. You can also send it to andrea@ntrack.com.

Also, which version and build number of n-Track are you using? You can check this by going to Help → About.

Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andrea

Thanks for the response - I was assuming that what I described was what was happening, but I have tried to reproduce it and it’s not doing what I thought - I wil try a few more experiments and if I can find out exactly how to do it I will send a video.

The version number is v10.2.3 Build 10303 (31/10/2025) by the way.

Regards

Ian.
