n-Track Studio for Android

Just released

Hi All,

we’ve just released the final (non-beta) version of n-Track for Android.
You can purchase it now for only €5.99 on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ntrack.studio

Please let me know (replying to this thread or using the Support link above) if you find any issues or have comments or suggestions on the app.

Flavio.

who is handling the track plug-ins? will third party support be available?

Hi dontcare,

I’m not sure if I get what you mean when you say “who’s handinge the track plugins”.
The Android version currently includes all of the nEfx plugins that you can find in the desktop version (Reverb, Compression, Pitch Shift, Eq, Phaser, Tremolo etc.).
We have plans to add additional ones (particularly instruments) in the next versions of the app.
As for third party we have no definite plans. On iOS there’s been a big leap forward with Audiobus and now inter-app audio (which allows using external apps as instruments and effects, and will be supported starting in the upcoming v3.1 of n-Track for iOS). There are already a couple of things like that for Android but last time I checked they were still kind of at an embrional stage.

sounds promising,

will these "instruments" be midi based? sound bank? etc

that is sort of what I expected, being embryonic in development,

I could not see any effects in the snapshot and don't have Andriod for me to test it right now, but at least I walk away from the discussion knowing there are pluggins and future plans for third party when the OS supports it.

thank you :)

Yes the instruments will be MIDI based (sort of a VSTi).
The current version of n-Track for iOS has a general MIDI sound bank, can record from external MIDI keyboards, send MIDI to other apps etc (from other apps will work in the next update).

Flavio.

that is great to hear!
:agree:

do you have any snap shots of the piano roll or midi editing GUI?

if Ntrack allows midi editing of program changes it is a first for iapps or any portable device OS for that matter.

It doesn’t yet allow editing of program changes, it will in one of the next updates.
Here’s a couple of screenshots (iPad):

looks great, I am hoping the eventual GUI for midi “events” is similar to PC Ntrack.

I am looking closely at the pictures but do not see any indication of which channel each midi track is on. my other question would be would they remain the same as they were in an imported midi file.

since it is still in the development stage may I suggest having a “set channel to incoming signal” as an option during midi record?

also will there be any query or CC triggering support for remote controlling functions? like play record, arming of specific midi tracks etc.

I find that very useful in the PC version of Ntrack as I have stop and start foot pedals during recording so I don’t have to use a mouse. :agree:

It has been a LONG time since I Have been here, and now I see that you have a release for the Android OS…great!

I am a nuB to the OS, but over the last week since receiving my tablet I am finding out how intrusive this OS can be, I don’t do the phone home thing, and that is why a few other music programs will not get my money.

I would like to know how n-track is licensed for the Android OS. It is a file I can download & keep, or is it like Audio Evolution, where it has to phone home ever 90 days or the app quits working.

Thank You in advance for any info you can send my way!

Smurf,

n-Track for Android is simply downloaded from Google Play. It currently doesn’t use any form of ‘phoning home’. Once downloaded and installed you can safely use the app offline.

Flavio.

Thanks for the info!!! :) :agree:

hi,

I’m new here… I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance… I tried to use the app, but it isn’t starts… every time I got an error message: “n-Track has stopped”…

Hi norbre, welcome to the forum. We received your report on our app monitoring console, and we are investigating it. In the meanwhile, just to be sure, you may try to uninstall the app and download it again, and see if this solves the problem, since we have had reports of corrupted application packages during download. I hope to be back soon with good news.

Thank you very much for the feedback!

First thank you the reply…
Because on google play I had 15minutes to report the bug to get back my money, so I had to report it, and uninstall the app.
When I search for n-track, google play enable to install (not buy), but when I click on it, I got download error 941… so I try to resolve this first, I guess it is because of google play…

Another… earlier on Facebook I had a question, and Marco Bertola gave me an answer, but as I read it now, maybe he misunderstand me, or I did :)
So if i have some tracks what I’d like to hear in headphones while I record what I play on the guitar, can I hear my guitar play too (in the headphones)

He wrote: "…you can easily use the echo mode to hear your tracks during record."

So just take it clear :) On echo mode can I hear hear my guitar under recording too, or just the other tracks what are played under recording?

thank you

Yes, in echo mode you will be able to hear through the headphones what you are playing (eg. your guitar), together with the other, already recorded tracks. But consider that you will have latency, whose amount is strongly dependent on the device.

thank you! :)

ouch… same problem… I bought the program again, restarted my device, reinstall the app, there is no antivirus in the background, but when I start the app, I see a black screen and after 1-2sec I got an error message: “n-Track has stopped”

please help me…

Sorry to hear this. We are actively working to track the issue down, though. What version of android is your device running?

Sorry for the double “post”, after I wrote the problem here, I found the support menu and send the info there too… btw: 4.1.2.
