recording issues

i’ve used ntrack forever. all of a sudden my brain is on lock. i’m trying to record vocal tracks. i’ve got a music track already recorded and marked. i either get the vocals several seconds behind that sound like alvin the chipmunk or nothing gets recorded or music and vocals get recorded in 2 new tracks. i’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, i’ve checked and unchecked. i have a delta 44 soundcard, windows xp, an audiobuddy direct box. i’ve had to move the rig and set it up in another room. i must not have hooked something up right. any suggestions. i’ve got a producer waiting to hear my vocals on his track. of course this would happen now. sorry for ranting; just a little frustrated. i know it’s me, not n.

That sounds like you’re using two different sampling rates for the vocals vs. your previously recorded tracks. Check to make sure you’re using the same sampling rates for both.

This sounds to me like it’s got something to do with your soundcard. I’ve got a Delta 66 and a Delta 1010. Have you checked on M-Audio’s website and downloaded the newest drivers? I’ve had the best luck with WDM drivers in my system.
