I know that this is an old question, but products change so rapidly that last months answers are already out of date. :)

Stereo in and out is enough, 24 bit, low latency, STABLE, midi not needed, digital I/O not needed. Inexpensive is a big plus too.

I’ve had great success with M-Audio products. I currently use Delta 44.
