nice TONEWHEEL ORGAN

FREE as in FREE -

nice FREE tonewheel(hamond type) orgen -

http://www.kaosaudio.com/nubi-le-drawbar-organ-vsti/

download - unzip - extract the 3 files to your VST folder -

first open the NUBILE organ then open the SPINNER leslie speaker emulator -

only problem is that it seems that the drawbars control the volume - so watch when switching presets - some are very quiet -
BUT HEY IT FREE AND SOUND GREAT -

M.R.

Got it - looks pretty cool.
I’m gonna try it out later tonight.
Who knows - maybe I’ll be playing in Church
this Sunday.

As we used to say in Latin - ‘Oreo’s by Nabisco’

Well, what the guy on the website says is true - I own an M3 and none of the VSTis I’ve tried get it. If this guy is correct, and the syncing of tonewheels is the key, well…thanks rabbit, I look forward to trying this! :agree:

Yes, that’s a pretty good imitation. Thanks again, MR!

Hi Magic Rabbit:

Thank you for that link to the Tone-wheel organ…
It looks pretty interesting…
I downloaded the PDF File and looked around…
The manual is quite detailed…

Do you gents remember one of the first VSTi’s to hit the Internet? …
It was called the Hammond B-4…
I believe I still have the beta build of that one around here somewhere…
It was before I had the Roland D-5 synth…
I never really played much with the B-4 VSTi plug…
One day I’ll get busy with all that stuff…

I think I need to learn how to wire all that stuff up with the computers…
I’ve got a MIDI Y -to-Com Port cable…
I think you need one of those cables to connect to the keyboard controller…
Is that correct…
????

Bill…

[EDIT]
The downlod file got corrupt, somehow… There was only 213 kbs. in the file… I’ll have to download it again with Get Right…

Ji Bill -

to connect your Roland you will need the following (OPEN LINK BELOW) -

1 of image 1 and 1 of either image 2 or 4 -

1 is a standard MIDI 5pin coble - between Roland and one of the below -
2 is a MIDI ti USB connector - plug n play in XP
4 is a MIDI to joystick port convertor - may need software

2 is the best choice for WIN2K upwards (XP VISTA)

WIN 98se has to have the Roland MPU 401 MIDI drivers installed -

the thing to do is to do ALL MIDI work in XP, using something like the ToneWheel organ you can then cteate a wav file of it and then import it into WIN 98se for Mixdown -

I’m still up here…
I may as well stay up now…
I don’t think I have a MIDI-to-USB Wire,
I’ll look for one …
Is length important.
?
Or…
do they only come in a standard length?
I heard that cable length may be an issue with MIDI Lag…
or was that way back when…
?I’m normally with-in an arm’s length of the machine…
AND…
is USB Rev. 1-2 something to consider.
????

Lots of questions…
EH…
?
I can play a a pair of spoons…
if I work on them…
Can you tell I’m ready for some shut-eye…
????

Bill…

[EDIT] card is interesting… A 2496 with MIDI I/O It’s on that Maplin Page…

lenght of cable only matters when its over 100 yards - a 5 mmeter (5 yard) cable is all you need -

MIDI IN and MIDI out use the same type of cable - so if you want MIDI OUT as well, then buy two MIDI cables -

MIDI was designed to run on what is now called USB1, will work on USB2 as well but wont be any faster -

check this card out -

http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Audiophile2496-main.html -

cable goes from the MIDI OUT ON THE Roland to the MIDI IN on the soundcard - REMENBER MIDI only sends DATA it does not sand any AUDIO down the cable - you have to have a SOFTWARE SYNTH OR the M$OFT Wavetable synth installed on your PC to get any sound -

Hi Magic Rabbit:

Thanks for that reply…
I could maybe stand to get a couple of those MIDI-to-USB Cables…
We’ll see…
They seem somewhat hi-priced…
But
you get what you pay for…
Maybe, the short converter and then m MIDI all the way…
OR
vise verse…

The only thing that the Lexicon LDI-12T A/D
D/A audio unit doesn’t have is a MIDI Interface…
AND…
It only operates with '98SE as the Operating System…
sigh
However, the S/B 5.1 Audio Card has a MIDI I/O interface…

The other thing…
Who makes the best price-break Stand-Alone CD/Red Book Recorder/Player these days…
What’s the Standard user one…
I think Allisis <spelling< is still making that Mastering version…
Or is it not on the Market anymore??
[EDIT] RADAR Wayne has one of those Mastering Stand-alone Burners… It’s really nice…

ve a TASCAM unit -

http://www.tascam.de/en/index.html

under PRODUCTS select STEREO RECORDING PLAYBACK then - CD-RW900SL - (this is the latest versiom of what i have) - cant remember what the manusl says about RED BOOK but i think mine is compatable - will have to check -

you can always ask a question here -

http://recforums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/f/31/0

a lot of people on this site use PLEXTOR internal CD drives that fit in your PC - they are expensive for a CD drive need top quality CD sodtware - NERO - Toast and Jam etc -

certain (PREMIUM) PLEXTOR drives come with CD checking software which no mastering engineer can be without - but you cant get it without buying a PLEXTOR PREMIUM drive -

the ONLY blank CD-R to use for mastering is -

Wabbitt - I have a question for you - when I ran the drum midi track through n-Track drums only a few tom hits played through it - what technically is goin on there?

the drums in the MIDI track did not correspond to the drums in NTD -

when you look at the NTD drum pamel you see a 8 x 3 set of boxes some of which contain samples (blue squares) - eack of the boxs (with or without blue squares is MAPPED to a ksy on a MIDI keyboard - when that key is pressed then it ACTIVATES that box and plays WHATEVER SAMPLE is in that box -

if the MIDI track does not activate a box,(it is out of range) or the box has no sample inset in it then nothing is played -

to hear it correctly - right click in MIDI track, output to the M$oft wavetable synth -

MIDI tracks are designed to be played on the M
£oft synth - they often need considerable alteration to play in another application - UNLESS that app has GM compatability -

M.R.

PS TO ABOVE -

some MIDI track use just 1 drum per track - it is up to the author to tell you what drums are used, most dont and all you get is track 1 etc - when done properly each track will say what drum/instrument is on that track -

M.R.

Got it.

That DV-RA1000HD looks pretty nice… The Spec. page is pretty nice… As well… You gotta have 1-or-2 of those machines in your audio chain… It should be a two transport unit that both transports has the option to either read-and-write…
