Now Grandpaw never made it to NASCAR but he brewed, drank and sold his fair share of White Lightnin' or so I've been told. He died from some kind of funky blood poisoning shortly after I slithered into existence. Probably "shine" poisoning
Talladega: I have often wondered how fast those guys could go if they gave them an unrestricted race? 220mph ? 230 ? I dunno, but when the pack comes by you at ~200mph, man that is something you will never forget. I've only been down there once about 15 years ago. My ears are still ringing and I still smell the tire dust........

Ah TG, sounds like Charlotte, been once in '85 for the 600, long race, hot sun, lot’s o Budwiesers, still picking the tire rubber outta my hair! NEVERAGAIN!
DITTO........ I don't think they could PAY me to endure that crap again. If for some bizzare reason I should decide to check out a race and WASTE several hours of my precious time, I'll do it from my recliner in my air conditioned house!
Hey yall: They like their rac’in up here… They work all week puttin their iron together… Get to the track right after work on Friday… Do their heats and Blow all their hard week’s work on Saturday night… Mind you, it’s not at the MASCAR level… It’s somewhere down from that class…
I think it’s one more week till first race weekend… Our seasons are pretty short up here… Everybodys working pretty hard gettin the jump on the competition, now…
They can pack away their MooseHead… and they like their Corn and Battery acid, too… lol…
Sounds like the weekly nascar circuit Bill. They are here in NC bigtime. Alot of it is dirt track racing too. Wanna be Cup racers funding themselves into poverty waiting for that big break into the big leagues!
TG, I second watching the race from A/C den with lot’s of snacks (for pre-race) then pillow because I see the 1st 10 laps and the last 10 laps. Best doggone sleeping I’ve ever had!
