Pinnacle Studio AV/DV version 9

Computer Blue Screen

Hi All
I have set up a n-track 5 with Pinnacle Studio AV/DV version 9 (audio hardware)
When i try to use the Pinnacle Studio AV/DV version 9 soundcard in n-track, then my computer goes to blue screen (crash), has anyone any expirience about this issue.
I have tried it on two different computers and the same issue happens.
The Pinnacle Studio AV/DV version 9 works perfect with Studio 9 (movie ecit program) on both computerns but not with n-tack?
Help!
Pierre

The Pinnacle AV/DV hardware is a Video Capture device, not a soundcard.
The Pinnacle software uses the existing soundcard to capture audio. If you are trying to access the soundcard with two applications at the same time, this might be what is causing the crash.

If you have the AV/DV Deluxe hardware, this does offer sound capturing, but this is not a soundcard so it may not work with any other software. Most Pinnacle Hardware is proprietary.

Hi Dave
Thanks for replying
This is what I got:

There is a “smart” interface to audio conection you can install on desktop, give you easy acces to audio in/out. but your are proberly right its for pinnacle only.

Yeah, that is the AV/DV Deluxe and it requires Pinnacle Software to work. I don’t think any other software will access the audio inputs only.

Sorry. I used to be a big Pinnacle fan, but I avoid their stuff now because it is all proprietary.

Once you bring the audio and video into the Pinnacle software, can you separate the audio and save as a wav file (like in Adobe premiere elements)? If so, you could do that, then bring the wav file into n-Track for processing. Just a thought.

Yes, I know, but the general idea was to use the Pinaccel hardware with n-track, and that seems to be an issue.
