Please anyone,I need some help with N-Track workflow

I need some help with the following questions:

  1. I have about twenty tracks, and I would like to move clips that are placed on each of them simultaneously in order to keep them synchronized. I am using iOS, and whenever I select a clip, no matter which mode I use, the other clips get deselected. As a result, I can only select one clip at a time.

The selection tool apparently only allows me to move clips that are on the same track. How can I select and move multiple clips located on different tracks at the same time?

  1. Is it possible to add my own loops to the Loop Manager?
  2. I am currently developing an AUv3 plugin that can launch a file when it receives a MIDI message. The idea is to be able to load an N-Track song from a MIDI foot controller, so I do not have to walk up to the iPad and browse through menus to launch the next song during a live performance.

However, my question is this: since N-Track already includes a song management system, is there already a simpler way to achieve this? I would prefer not to write a plugin that forces a behavior that was not originally intended if there is already a built-in solution.

Thank you for your answers to these three questions.

Hi Jean-Eric,
I’ll answer your questions in order:

  1. Currently to select and move multiple clips across different tracks, make sure you are using the Move Clips mode.
In this mode, you can create a selection box by starting your gesture from any track, as long as you begin outside the actual clip area (i.e., not directly on a clip). This will allow you to draw a selection rectangle and include all clips within it, regardless of which tracks they are on, so you can move them together while keeping them synchronized.

  2. Absolutely. Open the browser loop, select My Folders, tap the + buttonFiles, then use the system file picker to navigate to the folder containing the files you want to import and tap Open. You’ll find the folder and all the files inside it.

  3. At the moment, there is no way to load or open songs directly via a MIDI controller in n-Track.
As a workaround for live performance, you could prepare a single project that contains the mixdowns of all the songs you need. You can place each audio file on separate tracks (or sequentially on the timeline), add markers at the beginning of each song, and then navigate between them.
Navigation between markers can also be done via a MIDI controller, allowing you to switch songs without needing to interact directly with the iPad during your performance.

I hope this has been helpful, please let me know if you have any further questions on the subject.
Best,
Gabriele
