Any ideas on how to punch in to overdub or even start a song with instrument in hand and not have to free a hand to click start?

shift+ rt click the “1234” icon down in the shuttle control module ie: stop , play, record. enable punch in/ multiple takes as well as count in. Set the count in for however many measures you need to be in comfortable position to perform your take and knock that magic through the roof! Hope that helps
