Hi
Found an old 4 track studio song I sent my missus the first year I met her. This was many years ago when I really could play guitar. I’ve got no hope of ever getting up to that standard again, so no chance of rerecording it. I’ve got it into ntrack to replace the dire vocal track on it only to find the vocals have bled onto the lead guitar track. What’s the way to eliminate the vocal from the lead track. Any suggestions? I’ve tried a plug in called ExtraBoy but cant get any success.
Cheers

Do you have the vocal track clean?
If so, you might try reversing the phase on the vocal track and mixing it with the guitar track, it is possible that the reversed phase will cause a cancellation of the vocal in the guitar and remove most of it. This is similar to how Karaoke plugins work.

thanks for the suggestion dave, but it doesn’t seem to work. A slight reduction maybe, but not enough.
If only I’d got the singer from the band I was in at the time to sing it like everything else but then she’d probably have got off with him instead
